This ranch dressing is outstanding! I make up several batches of the spice mix and keep it in a jar and then just make 1/2 recipe servings so that it is always fresh. Plus, I save so much time making it in batches since there are a lot of herbs and spices to add. This is very low carb as well, 1-1/2 cups (one recipe) has 10.5 carbs total. I found this recipe on the Somersize website, Cheri's name was attached to it so I wanted to make sure I gave her full credit.

1 c mayo
1/2 c sour cream
1/8 to 1/4 c heavy cream
water to thin
1/2 t garlic salt
1/2 t onion powder
1/2 t dried chives
1/2 t dried parsley
1/2 t dill weed
1/4 t garlic powder
1/8 t pepper
1/8 t paprika

Mix the mayo, sour cream, cream and water first so that it is creamy with no lumps. Use as much water as you like to get the desired consistency. Mix in all the spices and chill for at least an hour. Stir before serving.

I plan on using this as a base for George's Smokey Green Chile Ranch Dressing soon!

Hi Dom ~ I'm going to have to try this. I've seen it on the SSing site - but haven't given it a try. I'm glad you posted it. *Ü*

Dom, I'm not surprised that you think it's the best. Anything that Cheri makes is outstanding. I've used her onion dip recipe many many times. And everytime I use it I get rave reviews. I'm going to definitely give this recipe a try, and I like the idea of mixing the seasonings & keeping on hand to mix up later. That would save a bunch of time.

Thanks for sharing. June

Deb,

It was in one of the "old" recipe collections....remember when they took the boards down & some kind soul always makes a "book"? But I don't remember which one. Anyhow, I'll just post it for you. I'm not sure where it should actually be posted, but here it is. If you know where it should be let me know & I'll post it in the right place.

Cheri's Onion Dip Mix
1 tbsp minced dry onion flakes
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
pepper to taste
2 scoops Somersweet (I use about 2 teaspoons Splenda)
1/2 cup mayo
8 oz. sour cream

Mix everything together & chill for at least an hour before serving.

I have to tell you that I always double this. A single recipe just isn't enough. Enjoy!!

June

Thanks for those recipes, Rebecca and June!
I will definately try them!
We use so much Ranch dressing here. It is my husband's favorite "condiment". Shocked He pours it on everything. Shocked
That is no joke. Sometimes I have to ask him to taste first before he pours so he can really appreciate the food.

June,

I tried it this week-end, and will definitely make it again. This MUST sit for a couple hours to have the flavors blend - its tastes a great deal different than when freshly made. Just like the ranch dressing.

This Cheri is a genius!

I calc'ed the carbs, I got about 19 carbs total for the 1 1/2 cups. You always get a higher count with onions.

It would be great June if you could post this as a separate thread so more folks would know that folks wouldn't have to open "ranch" to find it.

Thanks again!
