When in doubt, there is a HELP button, but here is the link directly to the question. There has also been a lot of discussion on this very topic just in the last few days. _________________ Dingie Dinah

I did follow the directions to use your profile pic but that didn't work either _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I would like an answer to this as well |
Moderators answer questions in many different forms. This answer was given in a PM which no one sees but the sender and the receiver. I assure you that you have nothing to "wonder about" here on this site. It is the common and decent thing to do around here to be polite, patient and thankful to those who try to help. Also being non judgemental and less harsh would be good. You get a lot more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. Just because you personally didn't see the response, doesn't mean the question wasn't answered. I don't mean to sound rude but to be honest I was offended by your comment. A lot of good people here dedicate their time and effort to this site and it's cause. It is often times hard to cater to just one person each and every time they need someone as there are also thousands of other members on this site that may need help as well. Also an answer may not be available right away and it is some kind of Web problem that we can not fix. Just my thoughts on this last posting here, David _________________ Praise loudly, blame softly and treat each person you meet as a brother or sister!

Gypsy,
Besides what David said, Most of those people who viewed the post, probably didn't know the answer. You can't help, if you don't know yourself. Unless you take the time to do a search for them, then post what you found. And that is no one elses job. Sometimes we do it when we have time, to be helpful.
The moderators are just oridnary people, who want to try to help. They are not necissarily computer experts. Some are just now learning to do some of this stuff themselves, and don't really know how to tell someone else to do it. Also, they more than often have jobs, and cannot see every post right away. Sometimes it is days before we/they find a post.
That all being said, here is a link to a post asking how to set up an avatar (which is the picture under your screen name.) I looked it up for you. This was just within the last few days. There are also others scattered out in the forums from the past.

The avatar is different from the profile picture, I might add, tho you can use the same picture for both if you like. _________________ Billie

Both of you are right...I was rude and offending...I look back at those posts and I am shocked at my response.
I am responsible for my actions...I have no excuse ...I will tell you at the time I posted this ...not one person in my family could stand to be around me....
I was craving everything from bread to sugar....
I am over the cravings now and am amazed at how being addicted to carbs and withdrawing from them.. made me so hateful and rude to people around me..
I am very grateful for this site and the community that revolves around it...I am wearing out the pages of my new cookbooks by George Stella and find that I am not craving much of any type of food anymore .
I assure you I am a great person and ask that you consider not writing me off just yet
Thanks
Blessings~~

Gypsymamma, Thank you for that post and I apologize for not responding sooner as I just visited this post. I hope you received my PM I sent you a couple days ago. We understand about the withdrawals as we have all been there and done that. It's OK to be angry and upset and irritable as we have all also done that at one time or another. We all love this site and it's members and we also know the behind the scenes work moderators often do to get things done and that is what puts us on the defense (or rather me on the defense in this case). We protect what we feel is special to us and this site is like one big happy family. We are naturally protective of that family hence my previous post. I am so glad you are cooking and enjoying the recipes in George's books! As I said before, we are not writing you off and wouldn't do that. I am proud of you to make such a public apology and it is admirable. It is water under the bridge now and just join in, participate and have fun here on the site. The people here are stupendous and have a lot of great tips, tricks and advice to give. Take care and again thank you for the apology! Good luck on your new found success in getting away from those starches. It will get easier in time and I promise you that, David _________________ Praise loudly, blame softly and treat each person you meet as a brother or sister!

gypsymama,
I agree with what David said. I am not always good with word, and so sometimes I just do not respond, as I can't think what to say. I too hope you got my PM a few days ago.
Hope you are settleing down now into a more comfortable Low Carb lifestyle. Glad you are now enjoying it, and finding that you can indeed have wonderful foods on this WOL!!!
Withdrawals from high/sugary carbs can indeed cause some terrible reactions. Just as withdrawal from alcohol or drugs. I am glad that you have recognized this. Thank you for the appology. Glad you are feeling much better now.
Now enjoy this WOL, and this wonderful community!!! |

Well, I don't know how I posted as guest yesterday. That happens every once in a while. I just now noticed. I came in to see about the "guest" posting (which is sometimes a spam or bot), & it was me! _________________ Billie
