It's pouring down rain here in Nebraska. I have my windows open and in fact there was thunder so loud it put my 76 pound dog in my lap.

Today I had Southwestern Taco soup for breakfast. Corned beef and cabbage for lunch. Taco soup after that. Do you see a pattern here? I have only one person (plus a whole bunch of animals) in my house. Boyfriend (Gary) eats steak, chicken, hamburger, green beans, corn and that's about it. So it is up to me to finish all meals that I make that aren't on his very limited list of foods. I've never met someone over the age of 3 that is as picky as him. Although I've learned it is really fun to trick people into eating things they think they don't like. Anyway I am trying to eat a bunch of leftovers so I can go to the grocery store. I hate to waste food.

Jen- Like you I also need to try to eat more veggies. I went through George's books last night and picked out a bunch of recipes I haven't tried yet. I have another goal to try 2-3 new recipes a week. There are so many I haven't tried yet.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

And welcome to the challenge Debi, Robbyn and Jia.

Debi- I read your profile, get rid of that candydish of chocolates on your desk.

Hi, I would like to join in. I've been struggling lately and tired of trying to justify some poor food choices. I'm off to a dentist appt but will check in later.

hi all! this is the first time today i have had a chance to log on! crazy crazy day!

i didn't get a chance to exercise today! boo hoo!

but i did not eat anything that i should not eat. last nite i had sugar cravings and didn't give in. but today, so far, no cravings. nite time is the worst for me. it's when i want to be bad. so i'll try to log on here and see what's going on whenever i get the urge to cheat!

i keep visualizing that "skinny me" in my head! and i am determined to get there this time! i'm going to try to find a picture of myself when i was thin. ha! it's so funny. back then, i thought i was fat. can u imagine? i was like 114 lbs and i thought i was fat! now i know what overweight is! and when i lose this weight, and i will, i will know the difference this time!

i luv this thread and all of u! it's such a great way to get support and make friends!

WE WILL DO THIS...........TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey.

Thanx everyone for the warm welcome. I feel much better. I have finally managed to lose 3 pounds. Feel great. I have also started going back to the gym. I figure if I can go 4 times a week, it will be good. I want to lose 60 pounds in the next 6 months. Do u guys think it can be done???????

I have been on the track with my diet mostly. Had boiled eggs for breakfast. For luch rabbed some fish without any batter and for dinner had a home made pot roast with celery and mushrooms in it. Also had 4 strawberries. Couldnt resist. Needed somehting sweet.

Catch you guys later....i am on my way to the gym now.

Love ya all for being here for me.

hi jia! yay on the 3 lb loss! that's terrific! and the gym too! keep it up! u are inspiring me!

i am doing really good to with my eating! i had some sugar cravings late last nite, but not as strong as usual. so i ate some cheese. that seemed to do the trick!

today so far i had eggs for breakfast. it was a late breakfast so i wasn't hungry at lunch time. i have to start planning my meals out better and try to get into a more structured way of eating. i know it would be better for me to have 3 meals, but it just never seems to happen at the right times. but the main thing is i'm not eating anything i shouldn't so i feel really good about that! one step at a time!

i also exercised on my gazelle for 30 minutes! so i'm really happy with myself about that too! i feel like something has finally clicked in my head and i am very determined to do this right!

it really helps to have all of u doing it with me! so, we'll just keep on truckin!

Congratulations on the weight loss Jia! I am trying not to weigh myself at all during this challenge and I was already tempted today. So far I have eaten SW taco soup for breakfast. Tuna salad for a snack. Corned beef and cabbage for lunch. I am kind of glad the corned beef is gone. I made it Sunday and I'm getting tired of it. Next time I will take some to work for a friend. I am currently baking a cheesecake with the praline pecan crust. I am going to try some new recipes this weekend. Also I am making a salad that I love with cauliflower, broccoli, red onion, bacon, sour cream, mayo and splenda. This is part of my goal to eat more veggies. I hope everyone is having a good day. It is beautiful here in Nebraska-in the 70s and sunny.

Take care,

Heather

Hi folks - glad to hear everyone is doing well. Good eating, exercise, saying no to cravings...so impressive!!

I'm doing ok. LOL. I should be - I had a 4 hour nap. Got back from the dentist and felt pretty crummy; I'm all PMSy today, tired, crabby, you know Evil or Very Mad . So I lay down to catch a few zzzz and woke up at 3:30 PM. There goes the day. I have been workign pretty hard so not surprised its catching up with me. Anyway, feel much better. Tooth fine so far, jaw a bit sore.

Meals today:

B - yogurt w/spenda

D/late lunch: roasted chicken breast and kohlrabi, diet rite

Might have snack later.

Water: 16 oz - need to get on this
Vitamins: No Sad

Folks - I'll be out of town this weekend, but the bro in law has wireless so I may take my laptop and check in on Saturday. But if you don't hear from me until Monday its because I'm in Virginia. Going to remember my challenge and keep it a healthy weekend. We are grilling tomorrow afternoon, likely having dinner out in Richmond with friends, and driving back Sunday (breakfast out, but back by dinnertime). My family and friends a pretty supportive of low carb so there should be no big challenges other than saying no to the birthday cake. Twisted Evil

Have a great weekend! Be good to yourselves. Keep up the great work.

See you Monday Very Happy

Jen

hi heather! that salad sounds interesting! can u tell me how u do it? i know what u mean about weighing! i have to try to stay away or just do it once a week. it makes me too crazy. it's hard not knowing, but i remember when i didn't weigh one time for a whole week. i promised myself i would only weigh on friday! it was torturous! haha! but i did it and by friday i had lost about 3 lbs. this is a while ago, but i remember how normal i felt that week! i actually felt free! the scale can affect our moods so much! i have a friend who never weighs. she knows she's losing weight by her clothes! i don't know how she does it. i think i'll make weighin in a part of my challenge. i'm only going to weigh in once a week! i'm glad u are doing so well with your eating! keep it up girlfriend!

hi jen! we'll miss u this weekend! but have a great time! we are all going to be good here! no cheats! have a fun and safe trip my friend!
luv ya!

and hi to all my pals here! i'll try to check in again later!

luv, robbyn, xo, Smile

Robbyn,

That is the link (I hope) for that cauliflower and broccoli salad. It is so good. This time I made it I think I only put two or three packets of Splenda in. I also added more of the "dressing" but it was a little much. I will stick with the recipe next time. Except I'll use the same amount of Splenda as I did this time.
