I just received the Walk Slim series. It is WONDERFUL!! I have several of her DVDs & love them all ....especially the Walk Kick & Walk Jog ones. I needed some variety tho, so I decided to get these. I'm looking for something to kick start my weight loss. I've had such a tough time losing for a while now. I'm hoping stepping up my exercise routine will be the ticket. I did the 3 mile yesterday and today. I hope to move to the 4 mile in a few days. I've decided to take her 10 day challenge and see what happens. Wish me luck!!
Has anyone else tried these? If so, would you like to start a workout challenge together? It would be great to have someone to workout with. It would help keep me accountable. Let me know!!
Take care...

Good luck June!!!! I was going to get the DVD at the store about 1/2 mile down the road but then when I went to start the car, I was low on gas and I sure wasn't walking that far,

hehehe
awww David what's the problem? It's only 1/2 mile. The dvd only takes me 45 minutes to do the 3 miles. You could boot scoot down there and back in a flash.
Have a great weekend!!

Yes Deb, it is A OK. The doc turned me lose at my last appointment, which was a little over 2 weeks ago. I'm back to working out full force. I just make sure I wear good supportive sneakers. I've been doing Leslie's workouts off and on for years. I love them. I also do Taebo, but I haven't tried that since I broke my ankle. The footwork tends to be very fast & I'm afraid I might twist my ankle. I think I'm a little paranoid too. The other thing I enjoy doing is my Pilates Performer. My hubby bought me the rebounder recently, and that's a nice relaxing cardio workout.
Now if all these different exercises will just work & get this extra weight off!! I'm sorry to say I gained about 5 or 6 pounds while I was in my cast. I've gotten them off, but I still have a little more to lose.....like about 20 pounds. Anyhow, I'm enjoying the workouts. And hopefully the stepped up routine will shake up my stubborn metabolism. If you like to walk, the Walk Slim program is really terrific. I highly recommend it.
Take care & have a great week.

Hi June,
I LOVE Leslie's workouts. I haven't pulled those out in ages, I'm ashamed to say. But when I was doing them I really enjoyed them. They are a lot more effective than I thought they would be. I have also done Tae Bo but like the walking program better. I'm going to have to check out the Walk Slim series. Before I QUIT (sigh), I was doing the three mile/4 mile power walk/occasional jog. What is this challenge all about? I'm in, just give me the details!
Cheers,

Hi Aly,
The Walk Slim Series really is great. The 4 mile one has 5 segments of boosted walking (jogging) and 5 segments of fast walking. It isn't difficult at all to do, but you will break a serious sweat!!
As for the challenge, I was trying to see if anyone would like to walk some each day for a week or 10 days. It's not a set number of miles, just whatever is good for you. I think when someone is walking with you, you're more accountable. Would you like to start a challenge with me? That would be great. Let me know. Just post what you do each day, and I'll do the same. We'll have our own cheering squad!!
Take care.

I have to wait a month or 2 til it cools down enough to do this! Hmmm can I do this on my treadmill? _________________ Foxye

Foxye,
Walking with Leslie is in the comfort of your home in front of the tv. That's the beauty of the dvd's. I can't stand the heat either. I'd much rather walk inside. Sure the treadmill is great too. Just keep on walking!!

No, Foxye, it's not a treadmill kind of workout. It incorporates different leg exercises, arm exercises, etc. not something you can do on a treadmill. You should give them a try, though!

Well Foxye I don't think I was very clear in my response to you. Sorry.
After reading it again, I realized I made it sound like it was ok to do Leslie's workout on the treadmill. Oh Dear.....I think you would get seriously hurt if you tried that!!!!! LOL The dvd's are a walking routine for in home walking. There are kicks, side steps, and a couple of other moves. There is also some jogging. They are really a lot of fun to do. I have to admit tho, that I skipped yesterday and today. My ankle was hurting. I hit it on something that was sitting in my utility room. Since it was the ankle I broke in October, and it was hurting pretty badly, I decided to give it a rest for a couple of days. But I plan to be back at it tomorrow. You guys want to join me? I'd love to have the company!!
Have a great day!

Oh June, I'll join you! My dear husband just dug out all of my DVD's. I'll start today! You wait till your ankle feels better, though, or you won't be able to do them for a lot longer. I gotta get back into the routine anyhow.
Be careful!

I have the 1, 2, and 3 Mile Walk DVDs of Leslies. I love them. I am very limited with exercising due to having rods in my back from surgery. Even walking too long on cement hurts it, but being able to walk on carpet is great!
I haven't used them in about a month and last night I decided to go for it and did the 2 mile. It's great. Even on the days I only have a few minutes I can do the 1 Mile. |
