Hi Folks.

Trying to add a picture to a post on the cheesecake thread.

I've read the help section on this topic. Added cake photos to my flickr.com account. Put the URL in the post, highlighted, clicked on the IMG button. The post only shows the text with the img at either end. lol.

Am I using the wrong URL? Its hard to figure out what to do once I'm in flickr - am I using the URL at the top of the page when I pull up my picture there? or is it some other one?

Hi Jennifer,
When ever I posted a pic,I copied the url one w/ the IMG at the beginning of it.I clicked on the IMG button above then pasted it here.I copied mine from photobucket.I hope this helps. Debbie

hummm. maybe photobucket works differently. or better. I might try that if no one has any other ideas. The only URL when you go to the flickr site starts with the flicker.com and ends in a long number. No Img (except the one on the post when I click on the button).

Did you check out the help section. Anthony has a section about adding photos to posts. He uses flicker.com. So he actually talks about it specifically. I've never used is, so I don't know how it lays it out. I use photobucket.com.

And I never have had to click on the Img button above when I paste mine in from photobucket. Tho Anthony talks about doing that in his post.

OK, I set up a flicker.com account just now to see if I could use it.
I had the same results as you said you had Jennifer. I couldn't get it to "load" the picture here either. Just got the URL of the page on my flicker account for the picture.
I never got the different codes or tags to copy like I do in photobucket.
I don't know what to tell ya, except maybe try photobucket. http://photobucket.com/
Maybe when Anthony feels better (been sick with the flu), he will find this post, and tell us what we are doing wrong.

I'm going with photobucket. Used Flickr 'cause I already had an account there to view my newphew's photos but I'm sold on trying the other. Thank you for testing this out - I had some serious PMS going on yesterday and was getting pretty frustrated (not too difficult at that point!).

Photobucket is entirely different from flicker. Since I joined flicker, I now have 3 different photo storage sites, not counting photobucket, which actually is also, just different.
I like photobucket. Hope you will too.

Well, I figured out why I couldn't get the flicker.com to work. Cause it was flicker.com not flickr.com!

Hi all,
I'm new to the site and adding photos to anything.
I have a photo program from creative memories since I scrapbook a lot. I have tried to download from there with no luck. I'll try one of the sites you've mentioned. Maybe they'll work better.

Yes Marie, you will have to use an online site. You cannot upload from a program on your computer.

There are several different threads in the forums about posting photos & emoticons.

I was looking back over the post about the photos. I just now happened to think,... If you are trying to post photos on your profile pages (there are 2 profiles by the way. The whole site profile, and the forum profile.) you do upload the site profile pic from your computer. So sorry for the confusion.

To upload photos to your site profile, Go to the toolbar, click My Panel, then click Edit My Profile. (You can also do this from the Home page in the Control panel.)

Now down at the bottom of the page, click on Add picture (I believe that is what it says before you ever put a picture in there.)

You will need to know where you picture is located in your computer.

Click the browse button, and find the picture, click open or save (not sure which it says), click upload. When it comes back up in the edit page, click submit. (I will have to admit, I was trying to update my pic yesterday & kept going in login circles. I just kept trying till it finally went thru.)

To add the forum profile you will need it in a website program like we talked about. You add that thru Edit My settings in the toolbar, or Edit My forum profile on the homepage. Follow the directions above.
