Hey all you LOSERS!
Are you working on losing those final pounds or last inches? I'm hoping to get some renewed interest in folks discussing strategies and issues around reaching your goal.
It can be tough to work off the last few pounds: motivation and physiology area couple of factors. What is working for you? What's not working?
Hoping to also be looking at strategies for maintenance and how to stick with this WOE over the long term - I don't want to regain like last time!!!
Come join in the discussion.
You do need to email the moderator to get access to this area as it is reserved for folks in the final stretch: look at the top of the forum topics and you will see the moderators name "wiredfoxterror" click on that and send her an email if you are working on the last part of your goal and want to join in.

yea!
hey Su - I love that photo of you with the cat by the way.
I let myself get out of loss mode over the summer. It was nice to eat more maintenence levels of carbs and just relax a bit. No loss however.
For the last month or so I'm subbing one meal a day for a protein shake (usually breakfast or lunch) and it seems to be helping. That and being stricter about staying in the 30-40 carb range.
Maybe your body is just taking a break. How long has the stall been?
Here's hoping that a few others show up.

Hey, how ya doin?
Speakin' of stalls, I had been stalled for too long to remember (so don't ask, I can't tell ya). But that's not my problem now!!! I've gained about 3 pounds over the last week & 1/2 or 2!!!! I really wouldn't mind, but as usual most of it went into (on) my belly!!! It's not the weight now that I mind, it's that belly fat. That is what I've had problems with ever since I can remember (since a very young age). Course being so short doesn't help any, cause there is just nowhere for all those (pardon me here) guts to go. Even when I was underweight a time or 2 during my early adult life, I still had a pot gut. Would often have people ask me when my baby was due. I wasn't expecting!
I know at least some of this weight re-gain, was some poor eating choices while out with friends. (Mostly hidden carbs.) But I've put on another pound after that, & I really don't know why. Hoping it is a girlie thing, and at least the last pound or 2 will just go away with that. (I'm post-menopausal, but I still get some of the "symptoms".
I guess I should update my stats, but I've just so been hoping I'd drop back down.
I guess too, I'm on more of a maintenance diet than a loss diet. (I do hate that word "diet", but in a way I guess it applies here.)
Also, I really do need to get busy with that other word I hate --- exercise. _________________ Billie

Thanks Su. Yes, I'm sure they'll come back off. Just not sure how long it will take. After my initial weight loss (the major weight loss I mean), it takes me months to lose 3 pounds some time. These last pounds are really hard and slow to come off. But I feel (and look) so much better now than when I started this, that I'm not really complaining. It took several years to put them on, I can't expect them to drop instantly.
I just don't want to put them all back on!!!!! So I will continue my WOL.
I had a shake for supper last night. I'd had roast beef & a cabbage dish for (dinner) lunch, with a few slices of tomato. _________________ Billie

I hate exercise too - but I have started to use the treadmill for 15 minutes every morning. It is too hot to go outside!
A coupla pounds had crept back, I usually find that a bowl of wheat puffs in the morning every day would break a stall or start me losing if I gained a couple but that wasn't doing it. That 15 minutes every morning does it!
I had myself thinking walking the dogs is exercise, but 2 under 20 pounders do not go fast enough on their little legs for me to consider it exercise! And they stop to sniff everything.... _________________ Foxye

My treadmill is gathering dust. I've got to remedy that!
I started to do just that a couple or so weeks ago. I managed to get on it one morning!
I also got on my Total Gym (another dust gatherer) one day that same week. _________________ Billie

ugh. the dreaded e-word. I've been making excuses all summer (so dang hot - can't go outside!) even when I know that I can exercise in the cool comfort of my home with tapes and my balance ball.
I friend convinced me to go to pilates with her - but she goes to a Thursday class and for the next few weeks I am out of town on Thursday nights for work.
Hummmm...excercise challenges never seem to work for me. But I'll think on that one when I get back from work on Friday.
This is the week that I DO NOT weigh myself - ladies you know what I mean. |

I weighed myself at Publix a couple of weeks ago because I just knew I was up about 4 pounds - and I was 169 hovering over to 170. I hadn't weighed myself in at least 6 months, and it was at least 6 months before that the time before....I only weigh for "occasions" - when I joined the gym, went for a checkup....and I always know exactly how much I weigh.
I was never in touch with myself physically like this before this whole WOE thing. I say I weigh just under 167 now, the scale might show 166. _________________ Foxye

Su...I have been Stalled since July too except for 5 pounds some where but I went down a whole size....but still weigh the same?! Strange. My scale /weight has always been trustable.
Since being stalled so long I'm beginning to wonder if this is just the size my body wants to be....this is about 1 size smalled than I have been most of my life. Anyone else feel that way? |

I'm about to decide this is where my body wants to be. But I'm trying to change it's mind.
As I've said in another post, I would really just like to lose some more of this tummy! And of course when I put a pound or 2 back on, nearly all of it goes to my middle. And of course that is the hardest for me to get rid of!!!
Overall I'm pretty happy with where I'm at now. Just not that tummy!!!

yeah, me too Billie...I'm just wondering if anyone else feel likes their body almost gets to the point where it stops losing when they get to their "normal" weight....
I haven't given in just yet...but i'm just wondering...am I fighting nature here? |

Sometimes (rarely!) I'll have a cheat day for a holiday or party and a few days later my weight is down. Maybe there is something to this carb cycling thing ... unless you do it too often I guess! _________________ "It is never too late to be what you might have been" - George Eliot |
