Place the dry tile in a cold oven. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, and bake the tile for one hour. Turn the heat off, leaving the tile in the oven to cool. Once the tile has cooled, it is ready to use.[/quote]

be careful storing in the oven and preheating it in there.. when i sold pampered chef we always warned not to preheat your stone.. if you are using frozen foods you can cause stress on the stone.. heating the food and the stone is usually the safest

The crust was surprisingly decent, and this did satisfy my pizza craving. My one issue with this recipe, however, is that the sauce is very bland. I like a very zippy, tangy sauce on my pizza. I would probably make this again, subbing a pre-bought pizza sauce that has more flavor.

Let's be real, soy flour has its uses, and I store a box or two in my freezer, but let's get real about pizza, it just doesn't work as a pizza crust. What does? In this house, Mission's Low Carb Tortillas with George's ingredients, rule! A six inch tortilla comes in at 80 calories, 12g of Carbohydrates and their Whole-grain version has 8 g of fiber. Their 10 inch version rings in at 31g and 21g respectively, and 200 calories. Happy Holidays to all of you, and thank you for the support that has been extended to my wife and myself, and helping us keep it real.

Call me strange, if ya want to, but I actually like the pizza crust. It is especially good with a little melted butter and garlic on it after it bakes, before putting the sauce and toppings on it.

The tortillas are good too, but I still prefer the crust.

We don't like the bitter aftertaste of soy flour. So we replaced soy flour with soy powder also known as soy milk powder. The soy beans are pre-cooked prior to being ground up.There is no bitter aftertaste and it is excellent. We also seasoned the crust with basil, olive oil and garlic.Soy powder can be used in all types of baking.

Not sure what I did incorrectly, but the end result was still good. It was a big hit with my children. Usually they eat the toppings and leave the crust... not this time!

I ended up using the entire recipe for one crust (since my attempt was verrrry runny) and after eating one piece, I was truly STUFFED. Lots o' fiber in that one piece!

The marinara sauce came out GREAT and I made extra for the fridge. Since I only made one pizza crust, the next day I simply put the toppings on a l/c tortilla and baked it. VERY good!

Hello Jennifer, and welcome!!!! I too have been reading your blogs, and I'm glad you've decided to join us here in the forum.

Isn't George's pizza just wonderful. I love it and can't get enough. I made 4 on Sunday. If the batter came out runny...then you're doing it right. A lot of people think it should be thick like dough. I did that the first time, and it was horrible. I then saw George make it on his show, and realized it should be thin, basically like pancake batter. Now I make it all of the time.

For a special treat, put a little garlic in the batter, or melt a little butter and put on it after it has baked...add a whole new dimension. Oh well, sorry, I get excited about pizza!!!

Take Care, and welcome,

Mark

hey Mark, what are your favorite toppings?

I like I-talian sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and pepperoni.

have you ever had a peanut butter pizza? believe it or not, it's good! there used to be a pizza shop in my home town that would blob on pbutter. YUMMY!!!

Mom used to get the chef boy-ardee pizza mixes and put sliced hot dogs on it.... really good! brings back good memories....

One time when I was young, living on my own, poor as heck, and slightly hung over, a girlfriend and I opened the cupboards to find a box of chef boy-ardee, and a can of campbells chili.... we made a chili pizza!!! it was the grossest thing I've ever eaten, but hey, we ate it!!!

I usually make it with lots of mozzarella, along with pepperoni, Italian sausage, regular sausage, hamburger, canadian bacon, mushrooms, green pepper, and a little onion.

I top it all off with some grated Parmesan Cheese (sorry Billie) and sprinkle a little Italian seasoning on top...yum.

This week though, I made without the pepperoni, cuz I forgot to buy it!! Still good though.

Um, no, I can't say I've ever had a peanut butter pizza. I grew up a Hoosier too, but we never had that. I do know of a place that has a peanut butter hamburger...a friend got one, I stuck with the boring mushroom swiss.

I remember those Chef boyardee pizzas in a box. I thought it was cool on the rare occasion mom would by those. I liked sprinkling the cheese them. She put hot dogs on them sometimes too...another hoosier thing???

I think it's time for a night time snack...maybe a piece of pizza or better yet, 2.

Mark

Hi there. I really, really need a recipe for a crispy crust pizza. If it is at all soggy or that low carb chewy (you all know what I mean) my family won't touch it. Also, I need to reduce the amount of soy anything I use as one of my kids has a cyclic allergy to soy. Do you think this crust recipe truly is crispy, and has anyone tried to sub almond flour for soy in recipes?
Thanks

I have made this recipe twice. The first time my hubby could not handle the texture of the crust. The second time I added 4 tsp of vital wheat gluten and made the pizzas a little smaller. The dough rose a little more, had a nice outside crust but still my husband did not like it. I think it is just the texture of the soy. I thought it turned out much better with the vital wheat gluten and it only added about 3 carbs to the whole pizza. I don't know what to add to this to get my husband on the band wagon without adding too many more carbs.

This was so good. The first recipe that I made from this site and I loved it as did my girlfriend. The crust was different but very good. Next I'll try it on a low carb tortilla. I definitely crave pizza a lot and this helped me out.

I recorded some cooking shows from 2001-2005. I just watched them again and they made much more sense. Looking forward to many great suggestions here. Thanks for the welcome.
