I missed Monday and Tuesday with all the Christmas things happening, got back on track on wednesday. I moved up a level, 30 minute aerobic program with a max incline of 10%, with a warm up with 2 minutes at 2.5 mph, 2 at 3.0, 2 at 3.5, then 5 minutes of 4.0 mph, 1 at 3.0, 1 at 3.5, then 5 at 4.0 etc ending with a cool section of 3.5, 3.0, and 2.5. A good work out for me at this stage. Ed Very Happy

My workouts are getting a bit better too! I have managed to increase my walking on a treadmill to 5 minutes. I have put on my shoes and walked down the hill to the mailbox and back to yea! get this month's bills Crying or Very sad at least 4 times a week the past month. LOL I have carried a basket of laundry down the stairs, sorted it on the floor, got back up, put it in the washer, and climbed back up the stairs. I would say the rest I needed after to catch my breath and for my heart to stop beating so fast lasted only a few minutes. Later in the day I moved the load to the dryer and started another. I have also managed today to carry my dishes/pots/glasses down to a sink with water and wash them. When they airdry, I am going to load up the laundry basket with them and haul them back up the stairs to the kitchen where I have the stove and fridge. My lower back hurts considerably after dishes, but hey! what can you do? LOL I have also managed to change sheets on beds, cook a bit, and once even made a trip to the grocery store. All without taking a nap to recover! Maybe in a few weeks, I can work up to some more. I have been practicing with fittv some of the shows...mostly just trying to stand for 20 minutes and swing my arms a bit, but I am practicing! Very Happy

Monday night I did the 30 minute, 4.0 mph 10% max incline program. I burned 307 calories, went just over 1 3/4 mile.
Monday we had about 8" of new snow, and this morning it was snowing again, so I put on my snow shoes, and took a hike in the woods. It was so quiet you could hear the snow fall. I covered about 2 miles with fairly steep hills. A really great work out for me and my dog.
Tonight I did the 30 minute 4.0 treadmill work out. Nice to get 2008 off on the right foot. Happy New Year, Ed Very Happy

Thanks Jason! It always helps to have some place to be accountable.

Yesterday and today I did 2 1/2 miles each. I used the Leslie Sansone Walk/Kick DVD. Since I'm just getting back to walking after a couple of months slacking off, I decided to start out slowly. Hopefully next week I'll be back to 3 or 4 miles. Sounds like a plan.

Melanie, I'm glad to have a buddy to walk with. I look forward to posting our logs. Welcome to the site. I know you'll love it.

Take Care!!

Tonight I did my 30 minute, 4.0 mph, 10% incline program, with an additional few minutes to get 2 miles in. Burned about 350 carbs. I hope to go up a level next week. Ed

Hey Everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well. It's pretty cold here in central VA this morning. It was 10 when I got up at 6. Brrrrr. But it's supposed to be in the 60's by Sunday. No wonder my sinuses are in a tail spin!! lol

I didn't post yesterday, but I did the 2 1/2 mile walk/jog with Leslie again. It's a 30 minute workout. I did that again this morning. I'm planning to do that one through the weekend, then bump it up a little to the 3 or 4 mile walk/jog.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Take care!

Since my last post, my workouts are starting to make a considerable difference and have been progressing each day. I am getting up and down those stairs almost with ease! I am not dreading doing the laundry and dishes as much. Still tuff to get up and down off the floor where I sort, but transferring the clothes and standing to do the dishes is nothing now! I have been putting on some of my 45's and dancing for 10, 15, 20 minutes a couple times a day. Some of you might not consider this a work out......but I am moving! I think it's great! And to top it off, my friends and family have dragged me to the bowling lanes and I had so much fun. Very Happy This week I am going to venture out and stroll around the yard to walk the dog. I know its not as much as you guys running on treadmills, but I am thrilled with being able to do that much! To those of you out there in Stella Land.....start moving! Every bit makes a difference. Believe me!

Good Job, Dances!!!!!!!!!! I think you're doing great. Any kind of exercise is better than none.

I didn't do my walk dvd yesterday. We were out with friends all day. But today I did Leslie's 3 Fast Miles. That's a great workout.

See you tomorrow! Happy exercising!!

Nice going Dances and June. I know what you mean about seeing improvements in stamina. I have been keeping up with my 30 minute treadmill programs. Gradually adding speed and time to burn more calories and to push my self. I'm not up to running yet, but it will happen if I stay with it. Yesterday I snowshoed a couple of miles in the woods, and today I snowshoed up to what is called the high hill on my Uncle's farm. What a great hike, Keep moving! Ed Very Happy
