I'm looking for some marinades to make delicious grilled chicken. Anyone want to share a favorite?

With spring in the air, it's time to heat up the grill!!!

Not a marinade, but different and (I think) perfect complement for grilled chicken--Cavender's all purpose greek seasoning--in a yellow container in the spice aisle

We just recently have been able to eat chicken breasts.....because my chef son introduced me to a marinade he figured we would like simply made from italian dressing and steak sauce. I was using A1 or Heinz 57 (yum!), but they are pricey. So I use the store brand from Aldi's or ShopnSave. Sometimes I ad additional seasonings to suit the meal.

I also have discovered McCormick Grill Mates Baja Citrus for chicken breasts. That is really good too.

Other than that, I have always just used italian dressing on chicken or dry rubs that I make up as I go along depending on the taste I want in the end.

I try to plan one chicken dish a month. Chicken is such an unusual food to fit into a food plan that any one in this house will eat.

I am also trying to find a way to fit turkey more into our menu. Especially the breasts. The store bought kind....not the wild. The whole wild bird goes in one meal around here. I hate that after a store bought turkey meal.....everything is gone except the two breasts and I have no idea what we are going to do with them. I know I certainly don't want to eat it. You got me thinking, though, maybe I will just have to experiment with some marinades and grilling and see if that gets it eaten.

I know this is a bit late, but I grill inside anyway. What I do is start with a can of Diet Rite Red Rasberry pop. To that I add soy sauce, Splenda, onion flakes, garlic powder, worsteshire sauce, Mc Cormack grill mate of your choice, fresh ground pepper, vinegar, and salt to taste. I don't have exact measurements on this, I use the dunk and douce method. I put the meat and vegetables with the marinade in a zip lock bag and let it sit for a few hours. Then I grill every thing. As I do I baste with the marinade to keep moist and flavorful.

Here you go: bottled Italian Salad Dressing - I'm not kidding! You can also use it on beef. Marinate for at least an hour, not longer than 12 hours. It's my husbands secret marinade. Wink

when I was a kid, my grandfather would take cheap, tough steaks and marinate them in just plain old italian dressing---he called it 'dinosaur meat'---we thought it was great and asked for it whenever we visited

My recipe is like Ricks only using the orange diet rite and low sodium soy sauce. I poke fork holes in mine and let it sit in the orange the longer the better. It turns out like oriental orange chicken.

Also for grilling chicken I have found it really help to marinate it in a salt water brine to which you can add just about anything. The salt brine keeps the chicken from getting dried out on the grill.

I generally just drizzle my chicken breasts with either soy sauce or vinegar and a couple packs of splenda. Just don't over cook your chicken. Set your timer for less time and check it you can always cook it longer. In my opinion it does not matter what you marinade your chicken with if you over cook it and it is dry. Yuck!

Oh I love orange chicken myself. I'm going to have to try that for sure. I also thought about the orange flavored True Lemon...got some experimenting to do!

I'm pretty sure the orange chicken recipe that I use came from Amy at www.eatinglow.com
I probably should have made that clearer.
It is how I often make my chicken.
