I got my pom poms ready!

I'm wondering if it would be easier if everyone kept track of their 14 days on their own page within this thread. That would make it much easier for the participants to see their induction on one page instead of having to go looking for day 2, day 3, etc. All you would have to do is edit your previous post to include each day. Whaddaya think, hmmm?

I think that is a great idea. The titles could be something like... IBC - Jerri, IBC - Trish, etc. I will post all of my "doings" at the end of the day.

I'm excited...this is gonna be fun. Someone here needs to threaten me with a butt-kicking if I stray! Laughing

Excellent Idea Emmie! I've started mine! We'll just edit them a zillion times and make it one post. I look forward to comments too.

And Rick, are you joining the challenge? (BTW, you can add my name to the participants too) Have you decided to come clean on your profile and join your group in the weigh ins? I hope so. It sure would give the group a little confidence and a great boost to moral! Think about it.

Good Luck Everyone!

In the past I've not weighed myself very often. I don't own any scales. I've found weighing myself causes me to go off, depresses me, and, frankly, I don't handle it well.

It was not a condition of me being moderator. Anthony began the weigh ins in this group on his own. Occasionally, I am ready to weigh in and check on my progress. I'm sorry it's become an issue within this group. I'm not sure if weighing when others demand it -- or on a two week cycle -- is beneficial to me.

Some people don't have pictures, some people have abused posted personal information and attacked posted pictures. It's sad, and sick, but true.

Last week was very disturbing for me on the Forum. I've been here one year and found great friendships and some success -- I've lost 70 pounds. I've also been attacked, personally, lately, and a lot of the old-timers that were supportive have left. I also believe the basic LC message that guided the Stellas, was first promoted by Dr. Atkins and has worked for so many, has been corrupted and twisted by many of the new posters.

Some people have attacked me in chat rooms, sent vicious e-mails, and asked the Stellas to remove me. Several of the new posters have asked me to leave the Forum because I defended drinking 64 ounces of water, Dr. Atkins original induction findings and my opposition to eating fruit and bread on induction.

Maybe I am not the person to lead if I have to weigh against my own will to appease some on this site. Maybe I need to do what works best for me and not what others want me to do.

A year ago when I first posted Meri, Frank, LynnB and a great group of people rallied around me, answered questions, inspired me, supported me.

Now, when I share that knowledge that I learned here on the Forum I'm attacked and vilified. The Forum may be a fancier, more state-of-the-art site, but it's also become a much colder, lonelier place with a lot less integrity.

The fact that members demand I weigh myself presents a dilemma; do I stop doing what works for me, risk failure, just to appease some strangers on this site?

You tell me.

I'm going to think this through today . . .

Rick... you do whats best for YOU! and to heck to anyone else... you have to put you first... you've learned that on this weight loss journey. I'm sure when everyone understands that weighing in is not beneficial for you, then they will back off... and if they don't then just ignore them.

You got this group started, and I for one REALLY don't want to see you leave as moderator. You are an inspiration, eloquent and very giving of your experience and time - and I don't want to lose that. This group would not be the same without you.

This is supposed to be a forum for support - so now that you've explained why you don't want to post your weight, I'm sure that everyone here will support you in your decision. At least I hope they will... that's the only kind of group I want to be a part of.

Hang in there kiddo... don't give up... I'm right there with ya! Very Happy

I guess my issue is that EVERYONE in this group has had to update their profile and post pictures. Some have been turned away because their profile wasn't updated, haven't posted... whatever the reasons, they were turned away. My feeling is that if the rules are the rules, then we should all follow them, regardless.

I understand your frustration, but rules are rules. I'm a very private person and have posted a picture of myself, my weight (oh dear God, I didn't want anyone to know this), weight loss story, everything that was asked of me, I did and fellow members have as well.

You have great ideas for our group and have scheduled chats and overall, are a good moderator, so please don't take offense, but if someone else was moderator and followed the rules put forward, you wouldn't be part of the group. By rebelling and removing everything on your profile except your birthdate (which, coincidently happened to be last week), seems a bit juvenile. Weight is a sensitive topic for a lot of us and I'm sure others feel like you do, but if you're not following your OWN rules, it SHOULDN'T be a requirement for everyone else if it's sensitive to them as well.

Consider following your own rules and do as we willingly have. I think the fact you know the Stellas personally gives you an advantage.

Rick, I just started LC 3 weeks ago. And I don't know you at all, but if weighing is such a issue for you, then don't do it. You have to what works for you. I didn't like putting a before picture on here but I did do it. Only because I felt others did it why couldn't I. We are all trying to do the same thing here. Get healthy! You do what you think is right for you. I for one have had great support in the last 3 weeks. I believe this forum has keep me going. I have read many of your post and learned from them, as well as others. Remember we are all in this together as a family! Remember the hardest thing in life we will ever do is lose weight. And we can all do it together!

Rick, if you can't weigh, if it causes problems, then don't weigh!

What I would like to see is a post by Rick "Induction Bootcamp Challenge: RICK". Join us in our challenge, and let us help you. By participating, and posting your daily plan for the next two weeks, we can support you just like we are supporting each other. Personaly, by posting and editing my thread, I feel like I am more accountable. I look forward to feedback from my friends on my daily plans. This will help get me to goal!

Well, I guess I agree with eveyone on this issue. If you don't want to weigh, don't weigh. Myself, I find that if I weigh every day, it gives me information about what I'm doing right and wrong.

But if there are requirements to join this group, then I think everyone should be held accountable to them. Maybe the rules need to be changed. That would open this area up to more people, I would think.

Frankly, I wasn't quite ready for induction again, due to not knowing what the heck is going on with my health, but because I'm a member here who wants to support my fellow members, I decided to jump right in. I agree with those who say it makes you accountable, and keeps you true to yourself.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

Have a great LC day everyone!!!

Last time I spoke with her, JoyinGa had applied twice and was still waiting to find out if she was eligible to join. She would make a valuable addition and is rightfully getting a little frustrated. If others can learn from us and we from them, I'm all for opening this place up.

I've only been low carbing for a month and a half, did my 2 weeks induction and didn't think I needed to do it again.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm sick and going back to bed.
Hugs to all.
