Starting Monday (December 1st), I am going to try a new recipe everyday for 1 week. Something I haven't had before. With George's cookbooks and all of the wonderful recipes in the on-demand and posted here on the forum, I have decided it is just plain wrong to eat the same things.

It's funny how when I do try something, it suddenly becomes a favorite and I eat it all of the time. Well next week it's time to try new things, and you know what...I bet I'll enjoy them all.

I'll start working on a menu, and let everyone know how it comes out.

Mark

Great Idear Mark! I'm with you, I get hooked on favorites and don't branch out and try new things often enough. Please let us know what you are trying. Maybe you will inspire me (and others) to become more adventerous. Sounds exciting!

I agree with Dinah, great idea. I try to do something new to keep the excitement in my plan. If I get bored I am more likely to stray. I just tried the New England Clam Chowder this week and bumped it up. It was really good. I was thinking yesterday about how few of George's recipes I have tried. I'll be watching for the recipes you try so let us know. Donna

Funny, Sam was just saying we needed to try some new stuff cause he's getting bored with the regulars. After Thanksgiving, I think we'll try that as well.

Just finished my first "new" recipe. Stacy made an absolutely wonderful tasting "Crack Slaw." The house hasn't smelled this good in a long time.

The meal was great, definitely a keeper. Thanks Angie, for posting the recipe. I can't wait until tomorrow!!

Last night, we had Dinah's Chicken and Sausage Cassarole. WOW!!! This was excellent.

Very filling and very flavorful...another one of those things that you think you shouldn't be eating...but it is healthy!!

This recipe makes a lot. I had a very large helping, Stacy had a normal sized helping, and we still have three containers in the freezer for the future.

Thank you Dinah for a great recipe.

Mark

P.S. Marylyn, I'm glad you've joined me on this challenge. Like you, this is the kick start that I needed to get completely back on track with healthy eating.

glad you liked it Mark, but i can't take credit for it. i found it and use it a lot, but can't remember where i found it. it DOES make a lot, but it freezes well and makes for some fantastic leftovers.

try my aunt fran's casserole too. makes a lot and is very filling too. great way to use up those turkey leftovers!

hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

ps, i'm in on this challenge too, as soon as i get back on my feet

Good idea to try new stuff. I almost tried the Crack Slaw last week but decided to cook the smoked sausage instead. I also have not tried the Cajun Jambalaya. I love the Chicken Sausage Casserole and I am a little partial to the Bolgogi since it is my recipe. I think I will make it my goal this next week to try the two new ones. It really helps to keep it interesting. Donna

Well, we had Bulgolgi on Wednesday night...my goodness, that stuff was good, and once again the house smelled wonderful. Definitely a keeper.

Last night, we were kind of busy, so I just warmed up some of the Sausage and Chicken cassarole...even better than that first time. Man that stuff is good, in fact, I may have a new favorite.

We are having the chicken and sausage tonight and I have the oven on low and the house smells so good! I am serving with Angie's green beans that Stacy gave me the recipe of, thanks to both.

also the silliest thing I really like sugar free jello and the finger sugar free jello, I had forgotten that I liked it and made some this morning and cut into small squares and what a great thing to rediscover!

This has been the best challenge for me!
