Dinah,

I had looked at the KA food processor, but having the Cuisinart on easy pay cinched it for me.

Feel free to move my other posts here if you like. Since they're not here yet, I'm still wishing!! LOL At least the indoor grill will be here tomorrow:

The grill is here, so no more wishing. It's the perfect size for one or two people, which is exactly what I wanted. If anyone with a family is thinking about it though, you might want to check out the larger version.

I'll update this after I've used it for a few things. I'm making salmon on it tonight, but since I really don't like salmon, that may not be a fair test. So why am I eating salmon you ask? Because the doctor wants me to be eating oily fish. Rolling Eyes

Dinah, as you know I have all Empire Red KitchenAid appliances in my kitchen. From the stand mixer, 7 cup food processor, digital 4 slice toaster, small toaster oven and the stick mixer (if it is what I have it is an immersion blender. I even have the red KA measuring cups, spoons, knives, pots and pans, glass springform pan, ice cream scoop, stainless steel wine chiller, silicone bake set, can opener, spoon rest.... well you get the picture and let me say that to this day I have NEVER had the first problem with any of them! The food processor is the bomb and will ground those almonds in no time flat. It easily disassembles fro quick cleaning and the stick blender I use all the time in soups and the likes. It is handy to mix the cream cheese into the broth when I make your taco soup and I never have a lump. Not to mention they have the one year for any reason replacement warranty on all their products. It has been the test of time that has shown me that when KitchenAid is the logo on something then it is indeed a quality piece of tool/equipment/gadget! All that being said thought the Empire Red is being replaced with the "cinnamon" so if you can still find them, grab them while you can! Take care and enjoy them when you get them. Here is another thing me and cat want real bad! Arrow http://www.subzero.com/PRO48Refrigeration Hey a guy can dream can't he? LOL Take care and y'all eat well,
David Wink

Oh wow David!! That fridge is gorgeous, especially with the glass door (only I wouldn't be able to hide my science experments Embarassed ).

My daughter has the cinnamon KA Pro stand mixer. She had been teaching cake decorating for awhile, and she won't use anything but KA. So far, I've been pretty happy with my Cuisinart stuff (like you, it's a big list that's growing). I don't think you can go wrong with either brand. They are workhorses.

AWE MAN!!! no more empire red??? that sucks. I better go ahead and order my food processor and stick blender right away! Laughing

I would love one of those fridges too. Mine is on it's last legs. it's the only thing in the kitchen we haven't replaced from the original 15 years ago. But I'd have to gut my kitchen and start over cause that fridge is HUGE!

but we can always hold the dreams......

Here's my initial impression of the new grill.

Beautiful grill marks. This salmon was very thin, so I only gave it about 4 minutes using the contact grill method. It had marinated most of the day in a low carb asian marinade, and frankly, although I really do not like fish, it was quite good.

The big test now will be how easily it cleans up (the grill I mean Laughing ) and how it does with stuff like burgers, steak, etc.

So far, I'm delighted.

** Update: The grill plates cleaned up very easily with just a wet sponge and a wipe down to dry with paper towels. The plates come off easily, and go back on just as easily. So far, I give this little gem 5 stars!!

I'm headed over to post it in the right one.

Well, I thought I made a mistake, but I was wrong! Laughing I didn't post on the wrong thread after all. Here is my post.

My mind is blank right now on what gadget I want. (Hey no comment on the blank mind! Laughing )
Dinah, I have a Cuisinart immersion (stick) blender in red. It is very similar, but it also has a mini (I do mean mini) food processor (chopper) with it, and a whip. The red isn't an exact match to the KA Empire red, but very close, close enough. I love the Empire red! As you know, I have the KA mixer like yours (ER)! Woo hoo! I also have a KA (ER) coffee maker. I had to replace it just before the 1 year warranty. (Mostly my fault, but it did quit within the 1 year, and they replaced it for me at Sears. I had to take their display model, cause they were out, and when the manager checked the computer it said they would not/could not get anymore in. Wouldn't you believe tho that about a month or so later, we went in, and there on the shelves were several more of them. Oh well, it had worked very well, I had the book from the other one, and I have a new coffee pot free. No warranty now (cause it expired with the old warranty), but if I can NOT forget to put the pot under THIS one, it will probably work for many more years anyway.
I too have the KA (ER) measuring cups, but not the spoons.
I too LOVE that ice box (fridge), but like the others, I'd have to have a new kitchen!!! Which wouldn't be bad either. LOL I had to buy an new fridge last year, and I was very limited on what I got because of where it had to go. Got a Kenmore (almond) which I'm pretty pleased with. This was my last big appliance to have to replace out of the ones that were the originals in the house (about 1978), all now almond from the wonderful Harvest Gold). Getting harder to find the almond (or biscuit) too. I love the red, but I really am not sure I would want my big appliances in red. And I didn't want the stainless either. It is pretty, but don't think it would be in my kitchen! I love the almond/biscuit.

Looks like the new food processor will be here on Tuesday. I'm excited!! Given the 20 year warantee on the motor, I fully expect that it will probably outlive me. Laughing I'm also delighted that it comes with the storage box for the blades. My old blades are in a kitchen drawer, and I fully expect to slice my hand off one of these days.

Anyhow, thought you might like to see it, along with the specs. I got the die cast model:

It's here!! At first, I got it unpacked but then was afraid to touch it. Laughing I seem to do this with all my new appliances, computers, cameras, etc., but then I get brave and before we know it, it's second nature. Of course, it's a bit daunting when I realize the DVD that came with it is an hour and 15 minutes long. Laughing

I haven't tried it out yet. That will happen tomorrow, when I try it on some of that yummy faux garlic mashed "potatoes." It's going to be a dream to finally have a processor with a bowl big enough for that.

What I really am loving is that box that holds all the blades (the big round blades are in a drawer underneath). Now I don't have to worry about cutting my hand off when I start rummaging around in the drawer, looking for something else. And although the demo I saw showed that storage box in white, I was delighted to get one in black, so it matches my counter tops.

I'll update when I see how well it works......... but with 1000 wats of power, how bad can it be??

**UPDATE*** I just made the faux mashed potatoes Supreme, and this baby made very short work of a whole head of cauliflower. I just need to practice getting the big blade in a bit. Took me awhile, but it finally went. Apparently wasn't locked in though, because when I went to pour out the cauliflower, the blade fell out. No harm done to either the blade, or the mash. And while it does make noise, it's actually quieter than my mini. Five stars for this one!!

It looks great Anne!!! I'm very sure you are gonna LOVE it!!!! Those 3 size bowls, and the powerful motor are great features. And I love that wide mouth feed tube!

Never mind what I said before in the other post, I shouldn't have said it. It is a great product, and it IS like buying 3 food processors, and they all fit in one spot!!!
