My kitchen accents are in done a reddish color and the GC KA matches oh so perfectly Love

Anita, you're going to love it. I think that's the color my daughter has.

Please give us a full report once you've had a chance to give it a try. What will you be using it for first?

good for you Anita!!! you are WORTH IT!!!! and don't you just LOVE that lotion? I'm due for a new batch too, and I think this time I'm going to find a tub of shea butter to use in it. My girlfriend here at work made a batch and used it in it. I'll let you know how my experiment goes, cause you have to melt this stuff in the microwave first.... should be interesting!

Really pretty! I have my white one - the trim has a red stripe. I guess it's 20 years old now and still looks and works like brand new. Make sure you buy a color you will always like as these things last FOREVER.

Today I used the adjustable slicing blade in my food processor for the first time, and I have to tell you; this baby may have been obscenely expensive, but I think it's my new best friend. My stand mixer is starting to get jealous!! But I digress.

You know how we all hate to slice onions? Well, I do at least. I hate my eyes burning, and I never get them evenly sized. But get a load of this:

I set the slicing blade for *2* and in about as many seconds, I had two small onions all sliced, and look at how uniform they are.

Since I keep the processor on the counter (it's too heavy to keep moving back and forth), it's actually getting used. Almost every day in fact.

So, I'm really happy I bought it, and I'll be even happier once I finish paying for it Laughing but worth it? Absolutely!!!

wow what a great job!!!! i gotta get me one of those. I know what you mean about having it out. I used to store my KA mixer on a counter without a plug next to it and had to move it all the time. i finally rearranged my counters and it is plugged in and ready to go all the time. I use it a LOT more now. organization is key, huh? wonder if they sell those in red, I might just think about that one! hugzzzzzz

Dinah, this model came in black, white, or the diecast (which is what I got). Maybe there are similar models in red, but I don't know. I do know that I'm glad I didn't wait, because QVC doesn't have these anymore, although amazon does.

Sadly, I now have to update my rave reviews on my food processor, and not for the better. Do I still love it? Yeah, but now there's an issue with both the customer service from Cuisinart, and a major safety issue.

I've been using the processor frequently. Mostly to fix those yummy strawberry and cream smoothies. A few days ago, I noticed some "lines" on the big chopping blade ("S" shaped blade) and wasn't sure if they were seam lines, or cracks. I suspected cracks though, because they weren't on the other side by the second blade. So I've been keeping an eye on it, and sure enough, it's gotten worse. Don't know if you can see it in this photo clearly, but it's those two diagonal lines coming right from the corners where the blade meets the plastic housing.

This morning I called Cuisinart, and was informed that "we don't have any parts right now. Keep calling back every once in awhile." This is patently ridiculous, and in fact, if I wanted to spend an additional $70 plus $30 shipping, I could have it overnighted by ordering from their website. This is horrible customer service, from a company I've always respected for the quality of their products. But what's worse is this is a major safety issue in my mind. There's a review on amazon where the person compained that one of their blades flew off the housing, and right thru the bowls, and luckily, nobody was standing there. I suspect this is precisely what could happen with mine if I continue to use it.

Now, on the side of good customer service, I just called QVC (that's where I bought it), and even though it's way past 30 days, they are sending me a return shipping label, and are going to pay all expenses involved in returning it to them, as well as sending me a brand new one. Of course, the only issue with that is, do I trust those S blades anymore.

So, that's where we're at now. I'll post more if anything develops that I think you guys should know about. And I very well may be reporting this issue to the Consumer Safety Board.

wow, too bad about the fp, but wow what good customer service from QVC!!! I'd be writing a scathing letter to Quisinart.

Hope you won't be without your "baby" for too long!

Dinah, I did that as soon as I got off the phone with their rep. No reply yet (I emailed it thru their website).

In the interest of fairness, last night I noticed the same configuration on the small blade, but it doesn't look like cracks, but more like part of the design. I'm still not sure about the big blade though, because those lines now look like they've widened just a tad, and they've turned dark, as if food was getting in there.

I'm happy to report that Cuisinart just called me ( a lovely woman from their Corporate headquarters). She confirmed that they don't have any parts in stock right now, and told me to try again in about 30 days. Apparently they're expecting a shipment sometime within the next 60 days. And from the way I was describing it, while it is part of the design, she said it sounds like mine may have an issue.

So that's the latest saga. Frankly, I'd rather just wait for the part, rather than have to pack it all up and send it back to QVC, and then wait for another unit to arrive.

I'll just be very careful and keep watching that blade to make sure it's not getting any worse.

Anne, I hope you get that resolved quick! I would mention one thing that i didn't know and I thought i would mention here. I am a stickler about clean. Almost to a point of OCD according to my doctor LOL ANyhoos, I placed my blade (Kitchen Aid brand) in the small amount of bleach water to whiten up the plastic that hold the blade. About 3 days later the blade started to rust. Silly me, Never put stainless steel in the bleach. NOW I know better. KA sent me a new one and I am all happy. I too think the QVC customer service is great! Many years ago I used HSN strictly and was taken in by the Ultrex pots and pans. I also had my first shopping card there called the HSN card. Well to make a long story short, I went to QVC to get the spray na grow (which we CAN NOT live without) and little by little started seeing better products, better prices and eventually found out better customer service. I never order from hyson any longer, in fact it has been about 2 years or better since I have even been to their site. Those sliced onions looked dandy and would have been great in a pan with some liver! Like I said, hope you get the problem resolved soon with your cuisinart,
David
