HEY!!! I just thought of another Crock Pot idea that my family absolutely LOVES!!! (my brain is working today!!! Whoo Hoo!!!)

I buy a cheap (yeah right!!) chuck roast, season it w/ salt & pepper & garlic powder. Then I take about 1/2 jar of banana peppers with the juice and pour it over the top. Cook it untill the meat flakes easily. Take the peppers and throw them away, use the juice to cook up some mushrooms, onions and peppers. Take the meat and shred it up. Sometimes I eat it with no "bread" or you can use LC tortillas to make wraps. Top it with provolone cheese and you should have a bite of heaven! Hope you like it!!!

Please do D!!!! I'd like to see more recipes here, especially since it's so hot out, and a crock pot meal sure would save on the power bill!

Dinah, I was wondering what the liquid is like? Is it pickled? I can pickled banana peppers, and pickled hot peppers. Would this be the same as you used? And why toss the peppers? I'd like to try this and I'm also wondering how it would be with pork???
Thanks

Yeah I think so, it's been a long time since I cooked this! thanks for reminding me of it.

If I remember right, the banana peppers are hot and they were kinda cooked to death, so that's why I threw them out. Dang, now I gotta cook another one like that so I can remember what I did! LOL!!! I have a roast in the freezer, so I may defrost it for this weekend. I'll let you know, ok?????

I'm not a big fan of 'hot/spicy' foods. Any suggestions on how I could change this up a bit?

Thanks

it's not all that hot if i remember correctly. it just adds a certain flavor to the meat. you could always reduce the amount of peppers/juice that you use and replace it with broth.... just a thought!
