Oh my, it is a wonderful day here in Michigan. 81 degrees and sunshine. Good day for a short bike ride.

Ever day seems better than the last, health wise especially. I am making all meals from George's books and the member site. It helps so much because I don't have to think about it. I have to make little alterations from time to time for my ills but mostly they are very tweaks. Today I have jamakin wings and they smell wonderful. I made a nice salad with roasted veggies on the side and sf jello for desert. And, I made a batch of George's baked peppers, all colors, for the weekend.

For the first time in a long time, I feel like I am also getting a handle on my portion control. It still could be better but I am getting there. For me, it is a real challenge.

GRATS:

Another call from my grandson this morning.
Having food prepared for the weekend, even a Sunday after church roast.
Healthy snacks to munch while we watch scary movies, we love scary movies.

Blessings, Marylyn

I'm so happy things are going better for you, Marylyn! That portion control thing is the hardest thing for me ........ still workin' on it.

I don't know if anyone else comes to this 'room' but for some reason it has always seemed more comfortable to me. I'm having a real bout of painful shoulders, so I'm not posting much, but I do come and read and that helps. It will be better soon if it follows its usual pattern, and I'll talk your heads off then.

I was able to make it to the dentist last week - it has been several years since my last dental visit. I expected worse news than I got, but in order to replace a bridge I lost many years ago, I'm in for some major work ..... if I can afford to have it done. It will give me my smile back and I've been so aware of my missing teeth on the edge of my smile - so I'm nervous and excited to see what can be done. I'll go back in about 6 wks (healing after the intense cleaning they did) - and Dr. Heard and I will look at my options and cost.

Signing out for now ......... Love to all

Grats:
1. Rotesserie chicken
2. Music and the way it can change unhappy feelings
3. Mentally I'm feeling better - now my shoulders need to do the same

Till next time ......... Keep on keepin' on!!!

Welll, here I am late but still here! LOL. It seems as if my days off are easier for me to get here and post as it does take a little more time as we all seem to be more in depth in our conversation rather than a like or short note like we do on FaceBook. It has been a very busy 2 weeks for us as we have had so much going on. As many of you know my daughter took/was given our living room set and coffee tables and end tables. We moved the 2 lane recliners and ottomans into the LR and used these for a while now while Cathy decided what she was going to replace the furniture with. Funny because we LOVED our living room set and grant you it was 8 years old but in wonderful condition. All the time we had it we sang the praises of Smith Brothers furniture as that was what our small hometown furniture guy told us it was. Keep in mind we almost deal exclusively with him when it comes to furniture as he is able to get one of a kind pieces that not everyone else has. Not that we are like that but rather eclectic in our style and it has to be just right for Cathy to like it. Well I came home one day and like I said the furniture was gone. I said what happened, did we get robbed? Cathy started laughing and told me no, Brooke took the furniture for her apartment i@ WVU The funny thing about all this goes deeper and back to where I was telling you we loved the Smith Brothers line built by the Amish. Well the small town furniture guy we go to could no longer carry the Smith Brothers line due to strong arm competition form the "bigger national; furniture guys" It is true, we were disappointed and "cheated" and looked at other places for the Smith Brothers line. Now bear with me here and go back to the day the furniture was abducted by aliens. Ok, OK, not aliens but taken by my daughter but still abducted with her Momma's co conspiracy. Anyhoos when they were loading the furniture up into the truck, lo and behold the tags were still attached unbeknownst to any of us on the back of the sofa. All this time it was NOT Smith Brothers but rather Craftmaster furniture. We eventually visited Gary (our small hometown furniture man) and told him the funny coincidence. The good news was that the many, many, many books Cathy had been through and finally the one set we agreed upon after 6-10 visits to the store was made by Craftmaster furniture. After about 2 months we agreed upon a sofa and a chair along with a chair and a half for me that I always liked. Cathy spent days on the internet looking for the right tables she liked form Pulaski furniture and I thought we almost had it licked. We have been saving for some time to get the replacement set and after a lot of extra payments made, we had Brooke's Honda and Cathy's Pacifica paid for. Been a long time since we had 3 vehicles and no car payments. Wee we went into the store and to get "the set" we had agreed upon and always with Cathy having a tape measure in hand look like Bob the builder. inch for inch she could pry a millimeter form a dead carpenter's hand. With the wall measurements in tote, the end tables needed to measure this and the sofa that etc, etc. Well on the glorious day we went to pay for it, glorious because we finally were really going to order it and I had some Starbucks coffee in hand, she decided that she wanted a sectional. UGH, spit, stomp, cry, scream, time for more coffee. You know the drill though, until she is happy no one is happy! So we start looking at sectionals, that crazy measuring tape started getting a workout again and needless to say, if I would have had hair, I would have pulled it out. I am now proud to say that as of last week when we went shopping, we ordered and paid for a Craftmaster sectional, a Lane Comfort King leather recliner for me, she has already bought a coffee table and 2 end tables, a lamp and a solid wood entertainment center we found while cheating on our furniture man (Oh I feel so guilty LOL) She is now picking out rugs, we have been to Lowes and the paint color is here (Fall Leaves to be exact) awaiting an introduction to the walls by Mr paintbrush and Mr roller. Well, being the man that I am, LOLA, really I am laughing, I let her choose everything her way under 1 condition, I got to order the TV. It was agreed upon and I was able to lead her into my web that was pre-spun and not often done on my part without detection. I am please to announce the furniture is being covered in her fabric she choose, the Dyson vac was shipped yesterday and should be here soon for the new rugs she will undoubtedly get and I the great male black widow who avoided being eaten by the female, ordered my 60 inch, High Definition, Active 3D 4 HDMI port TV from QVC! Woo Hoo, can't wait to watch a movie in real 3D! That's right, all those months she was tape measuring it up. I was secretly scouting TVs, brands, reviews and features. Remember the TV we have now is a 32 inch tube TV that we have had for about 13 years now, So, now that you have taken all this in, you understand where I have been and how my time has been so scarce to post! LOL Just thought I would share what all has been going on and what I have been up to. I will try to get pictures when it is all said and done. The furniture takes 4-6 weeks to come in and the TV will be here at the rnd of October. I have been eating well and working long hours so again the Mr Bento has made dinners in the coal mines a real low carb treat for me! Y'all take care, hope I didn't bore ya and now after seeing how long this post is, even I understand why I have to come here on my days off! LOL Joyce, I am glad you went to the dentist and hope the quote is a low one but not having the best dental plan myself, I know that it is and can be costly. MaryLyn, I am glad that you are on track and also feeling better too! I know we need to come here and offer support and I promise to check in. It may not be daily but like the others, I do read each day and post on my days off. Short notes keep you up to date on Facebook. Y'all take care and always keeping you in my thoughts and prayers! Love ya both buches! Y'all stay sweet, eat well and hope this post finds you happy, healthy and happy,
