I just found a video tip for The KA tilt stand mixers that was of GREAT value to me, so wanted to share with those of you who own one. I found it on thru a different site than KA, tho I'm pretty sure it is on their site!

Click the red button. >>

I was having this very problem, and didn't know what to do about it. Guess I should have called the company, but I hadn't. I'm such a procrastinator!

Dinah, I was REALLY glad to find this myself. I was in bad need of it. The set screw was very loose on mine. Head really wobbled when I made dough! And I had put tape on the hinge pin to keep it from walking out. (I had no idea about the set screw!

I saw that Dinah!!! I happened to catch it on QVC. (and I almost never go to QVC unless George is on there, & then sometimes I can't get on. Have to watch it on my 'puter. Sometimes he's on at a time I can't watch it. :>( Have to watch the shortened version later on video. Anyway, i happened to find out somehow that they were airing the mixer, and decided to watch. I would love to have that bowl. (Like the metal ones too for some things, especially since I'm so prone to break things, but love that bowl.) Don't love it enough to spend what they (and everyone else) wants for it tho! I loved the flex blade so much that I went looking for one of those too. Found something similar on Amazon, and took the chance & ordered it. It has a "spatula" blade on both sides. Not sure how I'm gonna like it yet tho. Sure hope I do, cause even it was not cheap! The company that sells it, is where I found this link! Never did find anything about this problem on KA site!!! I have 2 metal bowls for my KA. I bought one somewhere on the internet (maybe eBay?) not long after I got my mixer. Sure comes in hand. It wasn't cheap either, but sure a LOT cheaper than those new glass bowls!! Getting the head adjusted for that new flex beater is gonna be tricky. I HAVE to remember to adjust the head before I put the ingredients in!
BTW Jeanne bought one of the gloss Cinnamon KA mixers the other day from QVC!

ok, i'm jealous! can you share where you found that blade? I'd like to see about getting one too. If I ever have $350 extra, I'd love to pass my mixer on to one of the kids and replace it. But you know what? I have a great idea for KA. why couldn't they combine a stand mixer with the motor at the top, and make a food processor with the motor on the bottom, and use the bowls/blades in the middle? wish I was smart enough to invent it. that would cure 2 problems at once.
