Sandi, First of all Welcome to the site!
Yes, I know it is frustrating! And as far as the MUST DO I'm afraid it usually wouldn't even do any good, as people just don't notice! There IS a Sticky (stays there doesn't get lost down the page with new posts) near the top of the General Discussion that talks about login problems, yet very few people ever notice it!
But also, this is a glitch in the system (having to log in, log out, log in). We're not supposed to have to do that. George even thought it was fixed I think. They are currently building a NEW site around us, trying to get rid of all these glitches. Then right in the middle of all that, the server Yahoo, started having problems! We've been essentially locked out off & on for a couple or so weeks. That is hurting us BIG time. So often the problem you were having was from them, and not us. I just hope they now actually have it FIXED!!! Cause they've though they did a few times already.

Soooo,,,, hopefully before long we won't have to log out of one to be in the other. Isn't supposed to be that way now! Tho we do have to log into each separate, we aren't supposed to have to log out to use the other. Like I said, it is a glitch, and hopefully it will soon be fixed. But these things take time, and a low of work!!! You have no idea what all is going on behind the scenes to try to get this place BETTER!
And I understand your frustration over the log in, log out, log in thing, It's driving me crazy too!!!

I'll see what I can do about that MUST DO notice.

Hopefully the site will soon be better than ever. It is being worked on!! And the server problems have just slowed it down!

Edited
to say, this was in reply to Sandi, who posted this message. She later removed her original post.

Sandi, I just checked something, & it appears to work. Do you possibly have more than one browser? Such as Firefox and Internet Explorer, or Chrome, etc.? If so, they it appears that you can use one for viewing & working in the Home page (main) site area, and the other for working in the Forums. I appear to be doing that now. I have the Home page site on my IE, & logged in there. I am using Firefox here, and am obviously logged in over there.
If you have 2 different browsers on your computer, you might try that. Might be an option.
I'm even glad to find that out!!! Tho I rarely use IE, I do keep it on my computer. (Some sites I have to use won't work in anything else.) Soooo, I might start using it for my Home site uses!

OH!! Thanks so much! I''ll give that a try...I have IE and Chrome. I guess coming in new, makes it hard to tell what WAS working and set up before , compared to now. I had been reading about the glitches, but couldn't really tell what they were and what was different since I missed experiencing it before it went around the bend.

I'll try the 2 windows with the 2 options now.

Thanx again, sandi

Sandi and everyone, George & I have been checking this out, and it is NOT a prerequisite for EVERYONE! For some reason some people have this problem (I'm one of them), and some do not. So we cannot post it as a MUST DO!!

It seems to either be a browser, or possibly server (our individual servers, not the sites) issue.
Yesterday as I was testing, sometimes I had on problem & other times I did with IE. Always with MY Firefox. George tried Firefox, IE, and Chrome, and had no problems. So the sticky Dinah has up about Login Problems, and what Anthony has in the help section, is about the best we can do.
IF people have problems, this is what they can try.

Oh I gave up on that suggestion long ago ( last week LOL) as you explained it wouldn't do any good bc ppl wouldn't read it anyway. No biggy. I found a way to work it and have explained that way to a few others who had asked.

I wasn't here to see what " normal " was like before you started having glitches, so I can't compare and don't know any better. I just wondered why I wasn't successful the first 2 weeks trying to post. You were kind enough ( and patient enough) to answer ALL my questions.

Was there more life on the forum BEFORE the glitches started? I was just wondering if problems signing on or something else caused posting to slow.

Are you the spam chaser/ eradicator, Billie? The reason I ask, is we have had several come on the SSizing forum all at once recently. When I peeked in one day, we had 23 posts from about 8 different spammers needing to be deleted. ( They're easy to spot, in the right side panel, bcs it shows the 1st couple of lines of each post and the posters name ...no matter WHERE in the forum they posted).. Today, one was persistent and came back with about 7 in a row I had to delete. I was suddenly made an admin over there several months ago, with no instruction, but I can press SPAM in the admin bar above each post which draws a line thru each sentence and then deletes the entire post. Is that what is done here? Is there something else you do here when spam is found? Are we supposed to report any if found to someone? I've asked for members to let me know with a PM if they see spam and I miss it, so I can chase it down and get rid of it. Most of it is Japanese products someone is trying to sell. any advice is appreciated. Sandi

I was glad to try to help you with those problems Sandi, and it all took place when I had a little more time to try to think, and type up answers. lol Like most, I have more time some days (and some weeks) than others.

Yes, it did used to be a LOT more active here. And yes, it did slow down about the time the glitches started (or a little after), but at the same time I think a lot of other things happened in people's lives. Some just slowed down or dropped out because of life situations I think. But I do think login problems hurt us a LOT. Again, I think life also just got in the way for people.
As I said in the other post, we found out some people have NO problem with login, so do.

Yep, I'm a "spam chaser" here. George & I I think are the main ones now, tho there are some others who do it as well. The other main one now is Dinah.

I started this this morning, and had business I had to go take care of. Didn't get a chance to get back to it. It is way too late now, and I'll have to try to answer more tomorrow.
