Just wanted to drop in and update everyone (and so glad I did, I watched the Dr. Oz videos and will be ordering the new cookbook!).

I have been back on calp with stella style tweaks since June 2011. I'm almost at 68 lbs. lost and feel so so much better. It is fortunate that I was in the process of losing, because I ended up in the hospital with atrial flutter, end of January..totally unexpected. I can't imagine what my cholesterol levels, hgba1c would have been if I hadn't been eating properly (for me..this is the only proper way to eat, I feel best this way, my body responds best this way). I was delighted to learn my total cholesterol while in the hospital was 201 - that is my best in many years.

So.......waving Hi. George, I recommend your recipes often, to those low carbing who don't know about you!

I know what you mean about the benefits with your health. I have had 3 open heart surgeries followed by a stroke and a lot of issues because of it (part of it being the weight gain with the medications I have to be on). My levels were awful, cholesterol and triglycerides. I had tried so many things to lose weight but things just seemed to not be working in my favor. Stella Style was the only plan that has worked for me and since losing the 30 lbs I have lost so far, my levels were lower than they had been in the last 10 years. I have been able to go off some of my meds and lowering others. I think God guided me to turn on QVC the day George was on for his Real Food Real Easy book. That was the day that changed my life. THANK YOU GEORGE!!!

I am sorry, I would have responded much sooner, but I didn't know anyone had replied. Just decided to drop by today..glad I did.

I'm now almost 74 lbs. down (not the fastest loser), and continuing to enjoy eating this way. I am addressing other health issues to be sure I do my best to improve my heart health. I really do want to live to 90 at least Smile

I will try to do much better at dropping in and posting!

to both of you on your weight loss!!!

Hang in there!! Even if the weight loss is slow (or even non existent for a while), it is still helping your health!

I've not had computer access much lately myself, so haven't been able to post. It will still be spotty for a couple more months.

(I don't think our email notifications are working right now.)

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU TWO!! I know you're feeling much better! My losses seem REALLY slow until I look back at the time..and know slow is best. Since Feb 1, 2012, I'm down 20, but I'm just starting supplements to improve my thyroid, as my basal temp was a bit low. Maybe this will bump up my thyroid and metabolism a little.

I made Rachel's Praline Pumpkin Pie yesterday and since I can not find the Land of Lakes whipped cream spray can George had mentioned, I made my own with the organic Horizon heavy cream and Splenda. I'll definitely add this to the holiday theme this year. I'm trying out recipes to be ready in advance for which ones to pull and when. I made the Spiced Whoopie Pies a few weeks ago and those turned out well too. I'm wondering about mascarpone cheese though...if it is less salty than the cream cheese? Anyone know? . I wouldn't mind a less salty filling. I've also made the meatloaf in the new book ( Still Livin' Low Carb) and that turned out well. It made me want to make the BBQ sauce I ran out of though, as it would be an easy add on for that. Maybe today....

I'm so glad to read your levels are improving through your losses and meds are needed less. I haven't had my levels checked in quite a while, but feel better than before beginning low carb again, so I'm hoping! Take care and keep it up. Ladies! Have a great week! sandi

You're making me hungry!!! mascarpone cheese is creamy and has no salt as far as I can taste.

We use Horizon products and they are GREAT!!! ALWAYS lots of cream in their cheeses etc...a sign of quality and Organic too! The heavy cream whips up better than almost any other due to quality of the cream!

We make all the recipes you mention all the time--in fact we use our books everyday too!
Happy Eating!
George
