Need to correct yesterdays menu....Had quite a bit of low carb beer... Embarassed The nice part is I really enjoyed it! On to today.....

B-Nothing so far
L-It's Daytona today! Munchies, munchies, munchies! Spinach dip with Josephs pitas made into pita chips, quesadillas with low carb tortillas, queso fundito
D-Taco bowls with cheddar, cilantro, sour cream, tomatoes, onions and lettuce

LOTS of water after last night!!! Laughing

Well Daytona was rained out until today, but we still had our munchies. I'm already missing football season, it never gets rained out!

Hi Rae,

I had forgotten how good the root beer floats could be since last summer! I also like the orange cream floats so I'll probably start those up again since you" primed the pump" with the root br foatl mention. A nod to all frosty legal thirst-quenching ( like we ever get a chance to be thirsty), treat satisfying drinks! I'll try it with the lemon lime soon too.

Can you tell me a little about Carb Qucil and what that is? In SSizing, pro powder and pork rind flour were our only coating options, but I'm branching out. Carb Quick may be something I need to try. How is it used it and how often. Your personal favorite uses? .

I sometimes eat pre-cooked vegies too. It's a great idea when ppl are short of time. My pan is like a clean canvas and my pallette of what's going is , usually waits for inspiration at the moment. LOL keeps it interesting for me. I buy many things frozen, but sometimes have to rush to use up big tubs of fresh spinach or kale I got a good deal on..and organic. That can be the deciding factor in choosing...but I do love most vegetables and hubby only likes a few. He's getting used to some new-to him but it takes time. He won't go near a cauliflower anything, or cabbage, Thiose are all mine, but each time...I offer him the ones I expect him to turn down. LOL maybe one of these days. Those just don't appeal to him.

I may have to have a poached egg on low carb toast tomorrow! That sounded good! I'll just follow your lead now and then, how 'bout that? Power of suggestion gets me every time... used to be with the funky things,...and NOW with the low carb options. hehehe I'm always a fan of variety , like most ppl, Contrasting colors, tastes, and texture is sooo nice!

Carbquick is a low carb version of Bisquick. Basically anything you make from Bisquick you can make with Carbquick. The product itself is made from wheat so people need to decide for themselves whether they can use it or not. I use it 2 or 3 times a month and have never had it stall me but I could see people getting waaaay to used to it and perhaps it being an issue with them. I generally use it as a additive to things like pancakes that are made with flax because it really works nicely as a leavener. Some people say that it has a funny taste or a tang to it but again, I have never found that to be the case. After I started buying CQ I found the joys of almond flour and I use far less carbquick because I love almond flour. It's a staple that I keep in my house because it really does help me stay on plan. I recently fried fish in it and found that I didn't love it as a batter for things. It sort of slid off. In my ongoing weight loss I actually do consume some products that are low in carbs but are made from wheat like Carbquick or the bread I eat. Lots of people don't find that way of eating to work for them, so your mileage my vary, it's just up to the individual. I really can't condemn it but I also can't recommend it because it just depends on how people react with it. It just works well with me but again, I don't generally follow their recipes, I use it as a compliment to almond flour or flax. I found that using only CQ the pancakes were too thin and didn't stay together at all.

Thank you for the Carbquick info. I'm definitely going to get some to try. I have been using a low carb tortilla now and then as a carb snack, so I probably will respond favorably to the Carbquick made from wheat . Just won't be using it very often. It sounds like it will be a nice addition and a bit liberating after so long with only pro powder and pork rind flour to work with.

Never made brats last night, ended up ordering a pizza so dinner for last night was the tops of 2 pieces of pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza and 4 garlic parmy wings.

B-2 scrambled eggs (I HATE scrambled eggs, too lazy to make them any other way) 4 pieces of bacon, 3 cups black coffee
L-Nothing, having an early dinner, water
D-Brats and twice baked broccoli, water
