| I think I have Bobs Red Mill. I use it every so often and it is never in an amount that you can taste it. I agree the soy flour can have a bitter and unpleasant taste but it lends a great flour texture when used sparingly. I made lemon bars a few weeks ago and the recipe I followed was mainly almond flour but it included a small amount of soy flour as well. As a crust, it was amazing and much more like a high carb baked good than almond flour alone. I like to have it on hand and it seems to keep forever. I think I have had the same box for a year and just keep it in the cabinet in a freezer bag. I think it's worth having as an aid for baking but it can't (for me) be the overwhelming flavor. I have used it in peanut butter cookies, lemon bars that sort of thing where it requires a small amount to mimick a white flour texture. |

Good to know, Rae. I'm IN! I'll look for Bob's Red Mill today... have a few other products wi th that brand. Good quality every time! I'll look for CarbQuick too, but may have to order it online like the canned black soy beans.
I had my hair appt at 8AM this morning !! for highlights and a cut and would have done some shopping after, but decided to bring home MCD's breakfast for hubby and myself and to get fresh coffee. I need to make a list ....
I finished the last choc chip cookie off the other night.... in the half batch experiment I had made using almond flour. Now I need to decide on another dessert to have on hand. Lemon bars are my all time favorite, so they may be up next to be made.
Your info was helpful, Rae, Thank you! Have a GREAT week-end.
