Hello all - I've never posted before but have been doing this woe for 2 weeks now without any cheats (that I know of) and would like to weigh myself to see how I'm doing, but my fear is that I will have stayed the same as that has been a real problem for me. I do aerobic exercise 5x a week for about 40 minutes, and have also incorporated strength training. I really enjoy the Stella Style recipes and how this woe makes me feel, i.e., no headaches, no heartburn, more energy, but I have such a darn fear of that scale and feel like if it shows no improvement that I'm doomed or something. I am in perimenopause so I realize that hormones do play a role in how fast or slow we lose. I guess I just looking for some inspiration out there!

Hi Tina! Welcome!!!
I too am very afraid of the scale and rarely weigh myself--maybe 2x in a year!!!! Last time was when we were on the Dr Oz show in Jan (filmed in Dec) and unknown to us, after we filmed the 3 segments and were preparing to leave the studio...wait for it....this is secret behind the scenes stuff.... they came into our green room--remember, this is AFTER the show---and produced....wait for it...A SCALE!!!! AND AFFIDAVITS to sign that we actually weighed what we claimed!!!!!!!!!

Thank Goodness, I was careful to make certain that I fit into my skinniest clothes I owned--therefore I knew I would weight waht I said--205 lbs! I did NOT weigh myself prior to the show --even though I had it in the back of my mind that they just may want to weigh us..they did--I passed with flying colors and was even "surprised" I weighed so low--and Rachel eneed up being the lowest she has ever been--even lower than high school--and we both do not weigh ourselves!

The point? The big question is: "To Weigh or Not to Weigh"...and I say..YOU are the best judge of YOU and the scale can be a negative. And finally, all that weight training could be slowing your loss and turning fat into heavy muscle. And if you post what you eat and drink and take orally, many can comment on possible "trip-ups" but I am thinking you are just fine--a little slower with your healthy excercise approach--and that's just fine!!!!! Your Friend--George

Thank you George so much for your encouragement and I will definitely take your advice to heart! Can I also say that I've been using your cook books and they are absolutely wonderful! I'm sure you've heard this many times before, but the way you interject humor into your stories is truly a gift -- and it is sooo appreciated as it always makes me smile and often times laugh out loud Smile

I've decided to wait a bit longer before attempting the dreaded scale, and not make such a big deal about the numbers, but more on how I feel and how my clothes are fitting, which by the way they are starting to feel a little looser- so that's gotta be a good thing! I've got a long way to go but will take this journey one day, one meal, one moment at a time. Thank you so much for everything and hope you and yours have a wonderful Memorial Day! Tina

Welcome to the site, and our Stella Style family ......!!!

I'm sure you will like it here. Lots of good tips, info, recipes, and support.

Be sure to check out the recipe section. Wonderin about something, check out the search.
It's under Forum on the bar above. Also check out the help from the toolbar, and there is a Help forum also. You'll find a lot of answers there. Because of spam & bad posts being able attack this section, it has been closed to new posts, but it is still there to browse, glean answers from. (No spam there now.) Most problems have been addressed there. There is a sticky of FAQs in the General forum. It has links to lots of as the name says Most Frequently Asked Questions about Stella Style WOL!!!. For that matter be sure to check out all the stickies when you have a question. Good chance it may have been answered in the FAQ's or other stickies.

Check out the home page:

Lots of good info there.

Sorry I'm so late responding Tina, and just hope this will even post this time. I have not had internet service for a few weeks now, and it has been very sparse when I did have it for about 3 months. Not sure if I even will have it long enough to get this posted now.
Sure miss everyone here!!!!
Yes, really the best judge of your success is actually the way you feel, and how your clothes fit. It really isn't about weight! Way too much infuses is put on the scales, and not you body & they way you feel. (That's ONE & only 1 of my problems with shows like the biggest loser, but I'll try to step off that soap box right now. )

Again, welcome to the site!
