Hey Gang!

Been a while since I was around (my bad Crying or Very sad

)... but life takes you down some really rough and rutted roads sometimes... and it takes you a while to get back home again. I fell off the low-carb wagon... climbed back on it... fell off again... climbed back on it... got pushed off... and now I'm taking another shot; my head is in the right place... now if my body, emotions and finances will just cooperate! Wink

What's new with me: I cut all my hair off; imagine the scene... 4:00 AM... one very frustrated, exhausted and sick little fat woman... a pair of scissors... and ten pounds of hair gone now. I shoulda done this years ago! I love the way I can run my fingers through my hair now without snagging, tangling or getting it in my face (which drives me crazy... an admittedly short ride Laughing

)... and I plan to keep it like this; okay, maybe I'll pay somebody who knows what they're doing to fix the mess I made... but on the other hand, maybe I'll just buy myself a Flow-Bee and cut out the middleman! Laughing

My writing's going well; I now have six novellas and about forty short stories done... and I've got 8 novels, 2 novellas, 2 short stories and assorted other stuff in various stages of progress. Haven't been published yet... but getting some good feedback... so I'm looking for appropriate outlets in which to publish at the moment.

Andy's doing okay; his disability has increased... but then we expected that. He's still not in a wheelchair, however, so that's something! He's on new meds now... and they're mostly working; he still has a lot of breakthrough pain... especially if he's up on his feet too long, walks too much, etc. He's seeing another neurologist now... and this guy knows his stuff... and really has helped (not like the last two); he also has a really good primary care physician now.. so he's in good shape doctor-wise.

I've been having some problems here lately that've FORCED me (and yes, that was for emphasis) to seek medical care... which is just slightly higher on my list of things I enjoy than being disemboweled and set afire simultaneously Mad

; at the office, my BP was off the scale... so they immediately prescribed me BP meds... but as soon as I got home and rested... hey, presto... no more high BP. I called them about it... and they said to hold off on them and keep checking my BP each day... which I've been doing (and which is a major pain, by the way)... and so far it's been mostly normal... with a couple blips on the radar... but considering they changed my meds... and I've been in excruciating pain waiting for the new stuff to kick in, I don't consider that unreasonable. The worst, though, is having to put antibiotic drops in my left eye... which I thought was pink-eye... but which they say now might be some kinda benign growth called a pterygium... and they're trying to set me up with an ophthalmological consult; they say it's growing into my cornea... which is why I was having such a hard time seeing through the fog.

) - it's Lisa D. Wallace for those of you who don't know. (I'm probably going to regret this, aren't I? Laughing

) Make sure you put the middle initial in there or you'll wind up with the other chick who's also living in Florence now (dang, I move to another whole city to get away from her... and the hussy follows me! Laughing

); I don't use any of their apps or anything... but I've got some pictures (of me and Andy... and my new haircut!) if you're curious... or just looking for a good laugh Wink

Missed you guys a bunch... and since I found out ol' Davey fell offa this here wagon, too, I don't feel quite so bad now! Laughing

I'm so sorry to hear of all you problems. Sorry Andy is worse, but glad he is still not in a wheelchair. Life sometimes throws us some lemons doesn't it.

It sure is good ta have ya back, and look forward to seeing lots more posts from you. Missed ya. I saw the other day where you had updated, and hoped you would come back in, and not just lurk.

Back to edit & say, I searched you on FB, and it couldn't find you!

ARRGGHH!!! Now, the thingy says my log-in name doesn't exist! I must be under a curse here or something!!!

I know that the site is under maintenance. Maybe that has something to do with it. I saw George's post from this morning that the new site is very close to being completed.

Good to BE back! Yeah, I'm so excited about the new site and really hopeful these tech glitches evaporate once it's up; it hurts my feelings something terrible when I can't talk to my peeps! Laughing

Okay... just noticed this one: it says in my profile thingy to the left that I joined March 5 of this year and have only posted 7 times! Shocked

I really miss my raccoon....

Lisa, I'm not sure why you can't get in the 100# group.
The reason it says that your log in name dosn't exit is that it is Tia_Lisa_ , not Tia Lisa. That happens every so often. I'm really not sure how you (and a few others) manage to sign in under a slightly different name like that. Some of the others use caps where the userid is actually all lower care, or they use lower case when the ID is actually with a cap. I think if you sign in as Tia_Lisa_ you might have better luck. I'm not positive if you can change the user name or not. If you don't want to have to use the underscores you might try changing it, or I might try that for you.

But glad you managed to get back in!!!

If you look yourself up in the member list (typing Tia_Lisa_ into the search for user name, you will find yourself. But not when you click on the Tia Lisa that shows up to the left here. I still don't understand it, but know that happens.

Good to see you too June!!!! Hope to see more of you soon.

I don't know how much this site will be affected by the new site getting ready, and/or going up, till it is up & running.

I swear this site hates me! Okay... this is what I did: I tried to log in to the 100+ group after successfully getting onto this one - no go; tried again - still no go. Then I tried logging out of this area and going to the profile to see if I could get my raccoon back - no go; it kept saying I had to be logged-in to access that area and loading the log-in page... but when I logged-in, it sent me the same message, then again started loading the log-in page... like it was stuck in a loop or something. So I logged out of the whole site, then tried to log back in -again no go; so I kinda quit with it for a while and just headed on down to the recipes, like I told you the other day. I can read the stuff just fine, just can't respond or post to any of it... just like the 100+ group. Got a ping (new message alert), which I'm assuming was you... but waited until I got through with what I was doing to check; came over here and tried to reply to your message but it again has me locked out. I can read but not reply. I tried your suggestion and fiddled with my log-in name a few times, trying to see if that'd do it... but nope; it did log me in under both names, but neither allowed me access. So I tried using the forum only log-in... which was how I got in earlier... but it didn't work the first time. I did a witch doctor dance and held my head just right and tried again... and here I am. Laughing

Seriously, I can't figure the thing out; even when I fiddled with the log-in name, it didn't gimme my raccoon back, dang it! Crying or Very sad

I'm just frustrated at this point but like I told you the other day, I'm hanging in and doing what I can when it'll let me. Rolling Eyes

Lisa, believe me I know the frustration!!!! I have been there before myself!!!

And by the way, you logged in with your real userID this time (Tia_Lisa_) and your raccoon is on here! Let me emphasize again, you MUST be logged out of the main portion (the home page, & where you can post comments on profiles, do PM's etc) to get away from the login round & round. But, unfortunately sometimes it does seem to continue. If you haven't already you may need to clear your catche too.
I know absolutely NOTHING about MAC's so, I'm clueless as to how you do it in your MAC.
If you are getting the round & round with the log in, you must log out on the home page, and THEN do the forum login only. (For some for some reason, they still do get the round in circles thing, and try as they might George, Anthony, and whoever else has tried to fix that & can't till they get the new site up.) But as you see, sometimes it finally gives in, and here you are!
Can you use Firefox in your Max? I have better luck with that, as do some others.
The raccoon, BTW is only associate with your Tia_Lisa_ login.

I don't know what you did, but I checked at the bottom of the 100+ group page and now it says I CAN post Surprised

! I tried it a few minutes ago and it was still saying I couldn't... so either you did some magic... or I was correct in my earlier assessment... and this site hates me! Shocked

I did some magic girl. Not sure why I had to do it, but I got it fixed. Yay!!! Glad you could get in!

Now, if you wanna keep seein yer little coon friend, you will have to sign in with the Tia_Lisa_. (Again, not sure if you can possibly change it to Tia Lisa to make it easier to type in or not. But you should be able to check the Remember me box, and have it remember your name I think.)

Just posted on the 100+ group... and it went through just fine (fingers crossed); actually, I think I might've figured out how I wound up with the second log-in name that worked but didn't work - I think when I typed in my name in the home page log-in box, I typed T-i-a-(space bar)-L-i-s-a(space bar)... and that might be what confused me, the site and everybody else! Laughing

I'm gonna write myself a sticky to use the upper case "space" above the hyphen key instead of the spacebar next time I log in and see if that solves my problem. If not... I'll be yowling again! Laughing

Seriously, what'd you do to get me in the 100+? Was it that I wasn't on the approved list... or was it something I was doing wrong or what? I know there was an announcement of some kinda technical problems with the servers back in 2007 and it wiped a lotta stuff out; I can't remember if I'd posted anything to the 100+ since then, so maybe that was it? Anyway, I REALLY, REALLY appreciate all the help! THANKS, PAL! Hug

You actually seemed to have made that mistake when you updated this month too, as that is why you have 7 posts under Tia Lisa. It seemed to have changed you username for part of the site somehow. I don't understand it!!! I will see if I can fix that too. Not sure if I can. But I'll try. (edited to say, nope couldn't fix that)

Yes, for some reason you weren't on the "list" for the 100@ group. Maybe like you said it got wiped in that glitch back then. I just "re-approved" ya.
