Sue, I have a Kindle, and I just love it. I had virtually stopped reading, because I was finding it hard to hold onto a book, but I don't have that problem with the Kindle, so I'm reading again, and there are loads of free books on amazon every month.

I had wanted one since they came out, but couldn't afford it until last summer.

If you get one, you might want to consider the insurance for it. It's a bit costly, but it will give you one free replacement if you should drop your kindle and break it. I have never dropped mine yet, but stuff sometimes happens, and the insurance was cheaper than buying a new Kindle.

I had also purchased that leather cover that amazon pushes, but my advice on that is, don't!! Mine never held the Kindle properly, and it made it as heavy and awkward as holding a big fat book. Also, many of the reviews talk about this particular cover cracking their Kindles. I didn't have mine long enough to have it do that, so can't address that. There are other covers available if you need or want one. I just put my Kindle in the neoprene sleeve that holds my netbook when I travel.

It's so nice to not have books piling up all over the house, yet to always have them available (you never lose a Kindle book....they just get archived and you can put them back on your device).

Recommended accessories: the stand, and that clip on book light. I wound up giving the light to my granddaughter, so now I need to get a new one.

Hmmmmmmmm... Is this more of an answer than you were looking for? LOL
