It's this bread I got at the World Market here, but I've seen it at Whole Foods. It's a very dense, rich, German bread...all whole grains. Large slices with 23 grams of carb per slice and 6 grams of fiber. I often have only 1/2 of a piece. It's a bit bitter, but I love it. |

I go to Whole Foods about once a month to stock up on new and interesting items. Would I find this German Bread in their fresh bakery section or with the packaged breads? Do you know the brand name?
Can you tell me if this bread has seeds as I can't eat caraway.
Thanks for your help

Whole Foods has it here...it was tucked down on the bottom shelf of a rack BY the bakery, but not in the bakery. It is called "German Fitness Bread." I think it has some seeds in it, but I don't recall caraway. At Whole Foods, it was about $3.99 for a loaf. At my local World Market, it was $1.99. Good luck!
BTW, I've since made croutons with it that turned out really well! Crispy on the outside, a bit chewy on the inside..just perfect! |
