My best friend Jimi, who taught me to cook when I was 13, has been hospitalized with a minor stroke....Today they are doing a surgical procedure to remedy a blockage in his Carotid artery behind his eye.

This is a rare blockage as it is in his skull --he has the best doctor for this type of procedure but its very serious.

Prayers and positive thoughts sent his way are greatly appreciated!

Going to the hospital now---thanks all!

Prayers for strength, courage for Jimi, family, and friends.
Prayers for the doctors, and nurses to have the wisdom, and expertise to help your friend.

Thanks for your Prayers as of this moment they WORKED WONDERS!

BUT FIRST let me say LOUDLY: ALWAYS GET A SECOND AND THIRD OPINION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now this could be considered a miracle excpet for the fact that Jimi still has the symptoms>>>>let me explain briefly as I need to get to the hospital>>>>:
First off, Jimi has no Job or insurance so he was assigned doctors.

Jimi was first taken by ambulance to one hospital after suffering what was "thought" to be a TIA or small stroke....the care he recieved was extensive and immediate_good right? well....they did MRI, MRA, Cat Scan/Brain scan, Doppler imaging of the Carotid arteries (echo) and more!!!!!!!!!

It was determined after this extensive testing that he had at least 50% blockage in his carotid arteries on the neck but worse yet he had a blockage in the carotid artery directly behind his left eye! This type of blockage is rare and the procedure to unblock is relatively new...so they determined they had to send him to another hospital nearly 100 miles away in Orlando. They took him after nearly a week of testing by ambulance with sirens and lights going!

OK....the doctor to do this rare angioplasty/stenting of the carotid artery IN THE BRAIN is the BEST and most experienced in the cou8ntry who pioneered the procedure--Hats off to the first hospital for finding this gift from God of a man!!!!!!!!(and that's ALL i give that hopitsl credit for!)

Yesterday Jimi was brought down for the SERIOUS procedure done under anesthesia and was told just before: We are NOT going to do it as the doctor tells him: "I reviewed the other hospitals reports and discs of the tests and I just do not see what they see!!!!"

What about those blockages? Nope, he just did not see them!

But being the greatest doctor in the world today---he decided to do a catherization/ angiogram for the difinitave answer from the inside out!

They injected dye into the arteries and mapped every inch of Jimi's Carotid inside and outside the skill and the doctor conclude there are NO BLOCKAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NO PROCEDURE--NO LIFETIME of Plavix and Cholesterol lowering drugs that the other hospital had already started him on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we have to start over looking for the issue as he is still having severe headaches in his temple behind his eyes and is tired and somewhat weak. He did present with dizziness and temp blindness in his left eye(3 minutes) so he is not out of the woods but his Heart, Head and arteries have been ruled out so at least he can breathe a bit easier and whatever it is we can deal with it!!!! Smile

Back at you when the mystery continues! see ya and thanks as something happened here and no matter what or how--it;s as good as a miracle to rule out such serious life disorders!!!!!!! see ya! G.

George, Don't rule out a miracle (in what has already happened) yet. And maybe it wasn't bad diagnosing on the first hospitals part, but rather some answered prayers. Who am I to say tho.
Still praying for complete healing & ease of pain for Jimi, and strength & comfort for him, his family, and friends (this includes your Geo). And guidance for the doctors.

Jimi's back home and no further along with a diagnosis than when he went into the hospital(s).

He does feel better--let's see what happens! Thanks all!

It was inevitable I believe as they really never got to the cause of his in initial issue and as a non-insured he was stabilized and sent home with meds...He was at the hospital yesterday to sign papers and had a siezure right there and then! Just found out..hope this wakes them up and makes them think twice before releasing him again without a solution! Will keep you informed as I find out anything! Thanks for your support as I am a believer in the power of God, Mind and Spirit~ G.

Oh my. So sorry to hear this news, but at the same time I'm glad it happened right there in the hospital. Now maybe they will look harder for the cause, and hope they do find it now!!!
