I see a lot of recipes use Soy Flour in George's cookbooks. I can not eat a lot of soy. It bothers my thyroid. THere is lots of information on the two.
Is there something I could use in place of the soy that would be comparable to Soy in recipes?

This subject comes up a lot. There is a sticky at the top of the General Discussion forum called FAQ...... A search thru it has found these topics:

We have come to the decision that there should not be substitutions in the recipes written, but we encourage exoerimentation within those recipes..meaning: if it is an almond flour recipe, use that to make other almond flour based varieties, but if you are wanting soy flour, simply use the existing soyflour recipes to create different soy flour recipes. But trying to say make a soy flour Pumpkin Pound Cake from the Almond flour recipe is not the way to go and the reason we have the different recipe in both books. Make sense? Book 1 teaches you how to use soy flour and book 2 teaches how to bake with almond flour, stay within these guidlines for each substance for best results. That's what we do. Good Luck!

The two are not really interchangeable. Soy has much less fat than almond flour. This extra fat changes the results dramatically. Also, the two vary in the amount of liquid they can absorb.

If you want to make almond flour muffins, it's best to find a good almond flour muffin recipe rather than attempting to convert a soy one.

Soy flour has less fat than almond. This changes the outcome pretty dramatically. If you're going to sub soy for almond, I'd use a little bit less and add some fat to compensate.

There are probably more.
