i am looking for home remedies for gaulding- got any suggestions- i was told to take flour and put in a cast iron skillet and heat it up till it gets brown and let it cool down and then keep in air tight container. has anyone heard of this? _________________ url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w7RQQTP/]

Not sure if I had ever heard of that. It might work. But if you are not allergic to corn, I would suggest corn starch (don't have to cook it first). I have used that, & it does pretty good. If you have an old powder puff, you can put some in a bowl or dish, and use the puff to "pick it up" & dust it on. If not a couple sheet of toilet paper can help apply it. (might need to sprinkle it on the paper) I have found "baby powder" at the dollar stores before that is corn starch (check the ingredients). That isn't too expensive, then when the "powder" is gone you could refill with corn starch.
Regular baby powder isn't too bad either. The main thing you are doing with the flour or starch (or talcum powder) is soaking up the moisture away from your body. The corn starch seems to be somewhat healing too tho.
I'd go with the corn starch personally over the flour, unless you can't use the corn. You aren't eating it, so the carbs don't matter. I don't use corn starch to cook with any more, but I keep some on hand for such as this. We've used it for baby powder. (That's what they used YEARS ago, and now some are going back to it!)
As far as non homemade (or commercial product), I found a cream in the samples section of Walmart that was/is really good. It is Gold Bond Ulitmate healing skin therapy cream. Has Aloe. It has really worked well for me for that. I only use a tiny amount on the galled area. Like I said I found it in the samples area of the cosmetics area of WalMart. Not even sure if I've seen a full sized tube of it there. And not all WalMarts are alike! They don't all carry the same things. _________________ Billie

thank you billie for your reply! i know our walmart carry that brand and i will pick some up . they gave my father for right now a cream we got from the pharmacy and it is begining to help. but the gold bond skin theraphy would be helpful to get for latter. my father has prostate cancer and he had a luprin chemo 3 month shot and it has weekened his immune system. so i have been driving him to appointments -pharmacy and taking care of his skin right now. this is the first day in 2 weeks that he starting to heal in his galled area. please keep him in your prayers. sue _________________ url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w7RQQTP/]
