I got a Rosemary plant in the shape of a Christmas tree for Christmas. I'd like to just pull some off and add oil, to make Rosemary Oil. I'm not sure if it's that simple. Are there more steps besides just adding oil?
Has anyone ever made this? What else can I do with all these rosemary stems before they go bad?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Mary, I had no idea. But I did a search. Not sure if this link will work for you, but try http://www.goodsearch.com/search.aspx?keywords=How+to+make+rosemary+oil there are several links.

Here is what one said:

Rosemary oil is perfect for adding to the bath and it is a great help for easing sore muscles or giving yourself a refreshing boost. Here is how to make it. It can also be consumed, adding flavours to a variety of dishes from pizza to pasta.

Ingredients

Handful finely chopped rosemary leaves
Olive oil

1 Place the finely chopped rosemary leaves into the glass jar.
2 Top up with olive oil.
3 Put the lid on. Shake a little. Store the jar in a warm, dark place for two weeks.
4 Strain the oil after two weeks.

Strain the oil after two weeks. Pour into a storage container or back into the glass jar. It is now ready to use as follows:
Pour a quarter cup of the rosemary-infused olive oil into the bath when needed.
Sprinkle over a pizza or other food where you'd like the flavour of rosemary to be added to the food.

It is advisable to use this oil earlier in the day rather than as an evening bath because rosemary can act as a stimulant.

Do not use rosemary oil if you have a heart condition, or if you are pregnant. Always seek your doctor's advice before using a herbal product that you're unsure about.

Things You'll Need
Glass jar with lid
Strainer

There are pictures on the site (link below) to go along with the instructions.
There is a video on the site also, and I think it gives a different way to make it.
