This is day 2 for me! lol I checked this website out back in '09 and "ahem".. Rolling Eyes I didn't follow thru. Tonight we are grilling chicken and having spinach salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing, carb free! I feel good. Laughing I have a lot to lose and everything to gain by sticking with this. Motto for this week.. I am worth the trouble!

Welcome to the site, and our Stella Style family Teresa!!!

I'm sure you will like it here. Lots of good tips, info, recipes, and support.

Be sure to check out the recipe section. Wonderin about something, check out the search.
It's under Forum on the bar above. Also check out the help from the toolbar, and there is a Help forum also. You'll find a lot of answers there. Because of spam & bad posts being able attack this section, it has been closed to new posts, but it is still there to browse, glean answers from. (No spam there now.) Most problems have been addressed there. There is a sticky of FAQs in the General forum. It has links to lots of as the name says Most Frequently Asked Questions about Stella Style WOL!!!. For that matter be sure to check out all the stickies when you have a question. Good chance it may have been answered in the FAQ's or other stickies.

Check out the home page:

Triseagain ~~~ You are WELL WORTH IT, to be sure! That grilled chicken and salad sounded YUM! If you keep that kind of planning ahead going, you are going to be sailing through and feeling better all the time!

I'm new here but not to LC. I began in '03 and for the most part have been on, but going off, always caused me to pay the piper later. Now I'm excited to see I can try some new-to-me products ie. almond flour. soy flour, and flax meal , which I had to set aside before, bc they are funky on my other WOE. I hope the news is GOOD as I test to see how I do with them. New options always perk me up! Settle in with one of George's bks ( I am just now going through the brand new latest published bk) and finding some familiar foods and some exciting new ones I can't WAIT to try! Grab a bk, snack on some yummy pepperoni and cheese crisps ( er, um... fish crackers) and sip away on some water or sf beverage of choice while you make shopping notes or plan your menus. It's a FUN way to get going on your new wt loss adventure! sandi

Hi Debbie,
Can you post a sample of your menu please? I'm just trying to figure out how to calculate how many carbs to add in a day. I know familiarity with the carb counts is what makes things easier, but on the WOE I've used the past 8 yrs, we never count ANYthing, making the carb count new to me ( one foot in there and one ft in here). The other WOE is typically like STST in that the same foods are set aside for the most part, but it's a combining WOE where quality whole grain carbs are also used APART from Pro/Fats, with time limits between so insulin is not spiked. Anyway.... a menu sample will help me get a pic of typical LCing. Which Low Carb plan do you follow?
Thanks, sandi

Hi Sandi, I do a stella style- atkins plan.

Here`s a typical menu

B- scrambled eggs
L- salad w/ ranch
S- usually a slim jim or sf popsicle or something
D- chicken or porkchops & a veg.
S- another snack

I don`t count my carbs, I just eat lo carb

I hope this helps Smile

Debbie

Thanks Debbie. You keep it pretty basic then. I'm about to make Jenny's Flaxseed Muffins I saw posted in '05 , I think. You've made me believe this is easier than I thought....... so if you eat only low carb..what is your guidline for what is and what isn't low carb? No added sugar makes sense....but for recipes? You just trust they really are or try and make only the really low ones. I found this chef who's recipes online who has/had a tv cooking show and his name is BLAINE. He has some great recipes but I noticed some get on up there compared to other LC recipes in the carb counts. Like 13.5 gms per serving, compared to a usual 4 or 6.5 carbs per serv. Just trying to LOW CARB without sweating the details, but ALOS managing to lose the wt. sandi

I guess that guy's higher carb dishes would be a good "cheat" option rather than over the moon funky ones, but they did seem extreme, allowing ingredients I'm not usually allowing myself. The rest of his lower carb recipes are usable and look and sound tasty. Thanx, Debbie. sandi
