Shiratake Noodles are gluten free and are available in the tofu section of the grocery store in a water filled little pouch. I like the thin noodles. Just drain, rinse (pay no attention to the fishy odor ) then put them in a bowl and microwave 1 minute. You now have tasty 'noodles' that any low carb lover will approve of! (the fishy odor disappears)
So if you'd like a switch from the spaghetti squash give them a try. |

I often eat Shiratake noodles, but I've never had the tofu ones. I usually order mine. I do have one place where I can get some (an off brand), but I don't go there often, and I can get them online just as cheap, and in different "types" of noodles. The ones I buy are Konjac Glucomannan noodles (Yam), and are 0 carb, 0 calorie. Lots of fiber!
I too prefer the thin (angel hair) ones, but I've ordered & eaten others, including "rice".
Everyone keeps talking about the fishy order, but I've never experienced that! But I DO rinse mine well just the same.
Sometimes I still use Spaghetti Squash, and sometime the Shiratake noodles. Actually, now I mostly use the S squash for my casserole. _________________ Billie
