Hi Debbie ~ I have some hip pain (just on one side) and I'm also in pre-menopause. Prior to this (wonderful - ha) time, it hadn't bothered me for years.

In Suzanne Somers books, she does say that joint & muscle aches/pains can be part of this process.

I take Calcium Magnesium Citrate daily (have for about 7 months taken this particular supplement), but what I think is helping me now and I've only been taking it for 5 days is this:

http://www.vitacost.com/Jarrow-Formulas-Biosil-30-ml

I have never ordered from this company - they were just at the top of the Google search. I buy them from my doctor for around $14. I take 6 drops 2 times a day (in water or juice) right before a meal. My doctor (holistic MD) told me everyone should be taking these.

They don't taste good, so you want to slug it down quickly or else stir it before taking the second swig.

So - I think it's these darn drops that are helping me with my aches and pains of this blasted pre-menopause stuff.

I've had it several years too (peri-menopause). seems to come and go. I take a cal/mag/zinc supplement 2x a day and it does seem to have helped - but what mostly has helped is that I no longer stand on concrete floors all day at work. lol.

Curious about the stuff Deb reccomended. might try that.

I've wondered recently if I might need a new mattress? I sleep on my side and maybe my hip needs more cushion? Just random thoughts when I should be asleep....
