Hey. I am waiting for my Stella Style Cookbooks to arrive from Amazon.com. I went to Borders yesterday in Middletown, NY and could not find the books.

In the meantime, I thought I'd treat myself to a five day induction.

Next week nd I will be away at tennis camp where they serve a primarily vegetarian diet. Any extra good carbs I have next w/e will be burned by physical activity.

Anyone in? Laughing Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Laughing Very Happy Laughing

breakfast, I had a piece of fried salami, 2 eggs, 1 tab low carb catsup, 1 tablespoon 1/2 and 1/2 for a total of 6 carbs. I'll weigh myself tomorrw am.

Hi Vickie,

Welcome to our challange. I just read that what I am doing is not the true induction. I was at the 20 carb mark today but had some nut butter and some cream cheese. I am hoping the phase 1 instructions are in George's books or else I will have to go and borrow an Atkins book.

Feel better,

Ellen in NY

OK I am in too. I have been "lurking" for a while now... and really really need to get back on track.. I plan to do the strict Adkins with no more than 20 carbs a day and use Fitday.com to keep track. I wish everyone on the challenge good wishes!!!! Thank you for getting us started!!!!! Kath

I've been lurking for a couple months! I'm in too, but if anyone's placing bets, I'm the odds on favorite for losing, as in losing the least weight *LOL*

OK...Take two...my cat crawled on the keyboard and wiped the first try out!

So we have Vickie, Kath and Zellsbells. Welcome to our little group.

I am working on being at or under 20 carbs until Friday dinner. I'll be away at tennis camp for the w/e. The food is mostly vegetarian...the good carbs. While away, I have a planned indulgence and that is one scoop of full fat Ice Cream. It shouldn't matter because of all the activity I'll get....Then on Monday I will get back to 20 carbs. I'm thinking of doing 20 carbs on weekdays and then 45 on weekends.

Today is day 2 for me and I've lost 1 lb. Zells, I am a slow loser, you'll have good company.

What are your goals or motivators?

My goal is to lose 20lbs by the time I go back to the cardiologist in October. My total goal is to lose 37 lbs. So far I've lost 5 lbs total.

If everyone could post once a day, we'd have a nice little supportive check in.

My 10 year high school reunion is *gasp* in a month and a half. I don't mind being a few lbs. over what I was in high school (... who isn't?) but I definitely want to slim up!
Plus going to the beach even in a 1-piece suit is a little awkward Embarassed

Zells, you could make a dent in your weight loss in 6 weeks. Do you also exercise?

I got my Stella books today. Yeah! Going to bed now to read some,

Down another pound on the nurses scale at school.

HAHAA! Exercise? What is this exercise you speak of?
Seriously I do what I can when I can, I've been completely devoid of energy lately. I feel better when I exercise but I have to break the cycle!

My favorite form of exercise though... playing games on my Playstation using the Eyetoy and the dance pad Laughing Don't knock it, till you've tried it.

PS. I got one of George's books yesterday along with 3 of Dana Carpender's!

Hi everyone, It's nice to have a group to work with.. I have been using fitday. com and am staying below 20 carbs so far. Am NOT weighing on the scale but going according to me clothes feeling looser AND just feeling better. I have several goals, but the first one is just to feel better about myself before leaving for a mini vacation to San Francisco the first of July. (not too far off).. So I know that I can't bank on a huge loss but just to get back on track. It seems there is always "obsticles" to overcome --- It's really about staying strict to this WOL. I know that's the best way!!

About the ticker.. I'll try to get you through it Ellen. You need to go to that website (it's not available to me at the moment) but the one at the bottom of my post... and then find the one you want. You copy and past the info that has to do with the HTML I believe.. Boy, I could get you really lost.. I know that then when you transfer it to this website, you must have the HTML OFF on your panel. I am not sure this will help you.. Maybe someone else can get you straight.. It's been quite a while since I have used it!! Obviously, mine is not up to date... but close though! Just haven't lost for a while.

Keep up the good work on your weight loss everyone! I truly know it just takes being faithful to few carbs! Take care!
Kath

Zells, I had a roommate who swore by playstation, dance mania or whatever.

Kathy, I got as far as I could in making the ticker, cutting and pasting in my control panel but it doesn't show.

My day was OK. Had some frozen yogurt at work for an end of the school year party. And ther was no tennis today after work because it was raining.

Tomorrow is another day!
