Hi Kay!
Have you considered maybe chopping up a few almonds and putting them in yogurt? I LOOOOOVE yogurt and it goes quick in our household. I enjoy having 1 cheesestick and a few almonds with a cup of water as a pretty filling snack.
Anyway, good luck, I'll come by periodically to check up on you.
YOU GO GIRRRLLL!! _________________ |

Day 11
Well, I have shin splints, hip pain, and my knees are swollen!
I think I hit the pavement a little too hard!
I am moving to an indoors treadmill and see if that helps. If not, I still have my Nordic Trac!

Day 12
Did 2.1 miles on the treadmill today. Since it only has an incline--no shin splints!
If I can still walk tomorrow-it is a keeper. I am looking for a loss on Monday!
Happy Weekend!
Kay
PS Foxye, I was always too un co-ordinated for a rower. _________________ My Weight Loss Profile

Hello Kay, I am new around the entire board just wanted to say congratulations and keep up the good work. Weight loss is a pain but when that scale moves it moves. Do not rely only on the scale remember clothing would fit differently. For the night munchies try almonds about 1/3cup and water or hot tea I like fennel as it helps with digestion and it is also an appetite suppressant. Saturday is my weigh-in. Will check back on Monday. quismom |

I really like the water suggestion given here...going to try to drink more water esp in afternoon when I tend to snack...anyway here are my non-nut snack ideas:
deli style turkey or ham (w/o added sugar, and you can usually find low fat too)
a single cheese stick
raw veggies: green and red peppers or celery that you can cut into sticks - I like them plain with no dressing or dip but you could dip into some low carb sauce
seasoned chicken breast cut into strips - I season the breasts and either grill or bake/broil them with no added oil. A couple strips cold are great with the raw veggies and totally cut off my cravings.
I hope things are going well and I am rooting for you. My recent weight loss challenge was in part motivated by a family vacation where my Aunt asked if I was pregnant (I'm not). I have another family event to go to at the end of September and I am determined to get 10 lb closer to my maintenance weight. I want folks to see a difference and I want to see one too!

Day 23
Well, 3 weeks and NO weight loss! I am a little disappointed.
I found that treadmill walking took care of the joint problems and I am sure an elliptical would be even better. Thanks for the tip!
I had company this last week and then I caught a cold so I have had no exercise and not eaten very well. Time to re group and try again. I was just going to quietly let this thread die. How many times have you seen that on these boards: the starting is great, but there is a problem with the finishing. A friend of mine said "it isn't how you started that counts, but how you finish. So true.
Keep you posted!
