Some of it has potato starch (tho I've not found it in what I've gotten), some has cellulose. At any rate all shredded cheese (I think) has something sprayed on it as it is being sredded and going into the bags to keep it from sticking together.
What I usually get has cellulose, a plant derivitive. _________________ Billie

| This list is really helpful. Thanks. On fruits, like cantaloupe and berries, is it unlimited? |

Marva, I eat berries unlimited and find that I have to limit the amount of cantaloupe I eat or I "slow down" my fat burning process. I personally don't count carbs but many here do. Do what works best for you and find a "niche" you are comfortable in and one that works for you! Take care and good luck,

Hi David,
Marie here. Just got your email and immediately came here to see the list. It's printing as I write. I have taken away all bread type of carbs because I know they can set me right back. I don't trust myself. The only thing I have kept is my sf soy milk. Need it for my tea, don't want to drink it without it. I do soy because of lactose problems among others.
I did Anthony's smoothie this morning with frozen strawberries and soy milk. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I"ll keep plugging along.
I'll join in more when I figure out how to manuver this site more.
Thanks for your help.

Marie, you are so welcome! This is a list from all of George's recommendations and a couple of pointers from members here on the site. I knew that in the beginning, I was in a hurry to get going and needed information quick! I organized this list in one place to make it just a smidgen more quicker to access and not have to look for. Take care,

One medium artichoke has about 6 1/5 net carbs. _________________ Billie

Okay sorry for being the annoying newbie with all the questions, but I want to start right away.
So I am going to print out the list, but I'm still lost on a few other things-
You don't count carbs daily?
Do you just eat when hungry and do you make portion sizes or no?
How do you know if something is stalling you, do you weigh daily, weekly or ?
I've already been doing a low carb plan for over a month now but these few tips will help. I don't want to run around the grocery store laughing like a crazy woman yelling "Cheesecake! StellaStyle let's me have CHEESECAKE!"
Then again, it might be good advertising later when I've lost the weight lol

Bridget first off, it is perfectly normal to go running through the stores yelling cheesecake, I can have StellaStyle cheesecake and it is all mine! I do it all the time! I in the beginning ate all I wanted as long it was from the allowed list and when =ever I was hungey I ate period. I have never counted carbs or portion sizes. In time the appetite regulates itself. In the beginning try not to be too restrictive and as for finding out what stalls you if you don't notice a looser pants, then evaluate what might be the culprit, eliminate it and see if that helps. Most things if not all on this list will not cause a stall. When you get into grains, sugar alcohols (which I try to avoid completely) and softer cheeses and fruit in larger quantities is where you get into trouble. I never use the scales as they are not a good indicator of your success. I go by how i feel and how my clothes fit. Hope this helps and good luck,

Ah it does so very much. Thank you David, you are a jewel and a gem!
I got some "no-no" items the other day when I was at a funeral service for a friend. They did it at the Queen Mary, and they have a shop on board that sells items from England. I got some chocolates that you can't buy here. By later that day, they were gone. So I'm up 3lbs. But it's okay I know it will come back off. I finally found some unsweetened chocolate and have a big bag of splenda, so I think I may be making some chocolate swirl Stella Style cheesecake this weekend.(or maybe something else just chocolate) Not that I have any cravings, I just like trying new recipes. I'll freeze it by the slice and see how it tastes as it thaws for lunches etc. Thanks again! _________________ ~*Bridget*~ |

Hi David,
I'm a newbie and appreciate seeing the list of acceptable foods. Recently I've been doing an extremely low carb, low fat, low calorie diet...(500 - 600 calories) and have lost about 50 lbs. I still have about 40 pounds more to to lose, but don't feel it's healthy to continue eating this way. My problem is, I'm afraid to add ANYTHING to my daily meals for fear I'll stop losing. It really panics me.
You've lost so much weight, and that's incredible. Could you give me an idea how long it took. Did you keep a daily tally of calories, carbs, etc. I need some inspiration!
