This was posted by Patty on the old forum back when Meri was keeping the recipe archive on fouraccross. We have made this several times and it is good.

Crust:
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
3 eggs
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 ounces Italian cheese, shredded
Sauce:
1 cup tomato sauce, unsweetened
1/4 teaspoon chopped garlic, in oil
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon salt and pepper

1. Beat the cream cheese, in a medium bowl, until soft and creamy. Gradually beat in eggs, one at a time. Don't be tempted to just dump the eggs into the cream cheese all at once, the cream cheese will just stay in little lumps.

2. Add the cream, parmesan and seasonings; stir in the 8 ounces of mozzarella cheese.

3. Grease a 9x13" glass baking dish. Spread egg/cheese mixture evenly in pan.

4. Bake at 375º, for 15-20 minutes, or until nicely browned. You want it to be nice and brown for the bread-like texture, but watch it closely. Let stand 5 minutes.

5. Sauce: While crust is baking pour tomato sauce into hot pan. Add chopped garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients over heat until sauce is heated through and well mixed.

6. Spread crust with pizza sauce, then 4 ounces of Italian cheese (or mozzarella) and the toppings of your choice.

7. Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder. Bake until bubbly and browned, about 15 minutes.

8. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.

What kind of texture does the crust have? Does it taste like real crust?

Thanks,
Heather
