|
|
Hi Folks!
Some of you may remember my previous no cheat challenge. I have been developing some bad habits of late ever since I was sick and could not eat much. Not eating regular meals, not eating my veggies, eating too many treats, you get the idea. I'm now 18 pounds from goal and sometimes I think I "deserve" to eat off plan. Which is really messing with my body and making me crave carbs.
So, As of today I'm starting a new challenge: a whole month of on plan/on list/acceptable foods eating. If all goes well I'll add another month, and another.
Please join me!!! If you are just starting, or in the middle, or near goal - everyone is welcome.
Today's Meals (to be edited later):
B - eggs with cheese, green tea with splenda (caffeine treat! a no no for me), turkey sausage
L - 1/2 a turkey drumstick with chipotle chili sauce, zucchini
D - roast beef with walnut and bluecheese butter, green beans, one Russell Stover chocolate and a diet squirt
Water - 48 oz so far
Vitamins - Yes

Jennifer,
I read your post and it descibes myself perfectly. I'm about 15 pounds away from my goal weight and I've been doing the same thing. It seems like every weekend is an excuse to cheat. I've never participated in one of these challenges before but I want to. What do we do?

Hi Heather!
Welcome to the challenge forum! In the past when doing a challenge I'm flexible about how people want to participate. A lot of folks like to check in daily, or every few days, and let folks know how things are going, both good and bad. Sometimes people post what they have been eating, or if they are trying to remember to do other healthy things like drink water, take supplements, walk/exercise, take meds, etc. Some folks just post that things are ok, or not ok. We usually offer each other some extra support for hanging in there or getting back "on the wagon". Sometimes we just yammer about thing that are going on...
Most participants set their own goals; staying on plan, eating within their carb range or eating from an acceptable foods list (this may vary a bit for people). With a challenge, I usually post daily with menus, chatter, updates, good/bad days, etc. but that's because I do a lot of work in front of the computer and it seems my temptation is due to mis managed stress and seem to hit at odd times.
So, if you are trying to stay cheat free on the weekends, you might just want to check in then, or in the days before the weekend. Or you might want to post/check in more often. Let the folks who join in know if you are struggling, and when things are going well, so folks can sent encouragement and cheer you on!

Good Afternoon!
Once again - welcome new folks and old friends! Hi Heather and Debbie
Feeling better today already. Last two days was really stressed and not managing and paying attention to things that are stressing me this does not help with staying on plan. Gave myself a bit of a break yesterday and reminded myself that you can only do one thing at a time. My dental appointment went well, but as usual they found more problems.
Today's Meals:
B - bacon and greek yogurt with splenda
L- other half of turkey drumstick and zucchini
D- curried halibut and veggie soup, cheesecake
Water 50 oz
Vitamins- Forgot them at home!
Jen

Hi girls,
how are you? Welcome to the challenge Jia. We can do this one day at a time. Today I had corned beef and cabbage for breakfast (no it's not leftover from St. Pat's) I made it this weekend. Then after work I cooked a pot of Southwestern Taco Soup and ate too much. I'm stuffed. Tonight for supper I am having a ribeye and green beans. 54 oz. of water so far but it's only 3:30 here. Oh and I took my vitamin this morning only because I finally started carrying them in my purse so I'd always have one.
Oh and I am posting my starting weight to have something to look back at in one month. 158 lbs. I am going to try not to weigh until the end.

By the way Jia-do you have George's books yet? They are so helpful with snacks (and all other meals)

Welcome Jia, Robbyn, and BabyBus (love that log-in! I'll check on your profile later). Even if you have a lot to lose having some support to stick with it really helps - it helped me a lot at the start.
How's everyone doing? Its a rainy day here in NC - but we really need the rain.
Thanks everybody for joining in. As I said above; no hard rules. Check in and let us know how things are going, good or not.
My tip today: Plan plan plan. (lololol) I forgot my lunch at home today and our new offices are not close to any places I can pick up something to eat. So....either I skip it and eat an early dinner (a sure way for me to be tempted to overeat, or I spend most of my lunch hour running to the store and back ) Seriously, planning out your meals and snacks, having a list at the grocery store, etc. have all helped me stick with this way of eating.
Quick reminder of my goal: stay on plan, cut back on treats, eat regular meals that include veggies.
Meals today:
B - eggs with cheese, turkey sausage, green tea with splenda (ohh its sooo goood - but the caffiene is making me lose focus...)
L - skipped
Snack- 1 oz peanuts, turkey pepperoni, 3 mini dill pickles and a slice of provolone
D - roasted chicken and ...kohlrabi
W - 48oz so far - goal is 50+
Vitamins- Yes!
Jen
So, tomorrow - three regular meals. keep more water at desk.
