I saw the post about amusement parks and Magic Kingdom and I was sitting here laughing by myself - i had to share.

Last April I went to florida with my hubby, my son and my parents. We drove down, had lots of laughs and fun and headed off to Disney.

I had wanted to bring my own stroller with me but our van was so packed I decided at last minute to leave it home. I was able to rent one there anyway so I was okay with that. Now all these places have turnstiles and my big butt is just not happy to see turnstiles. I had wanted the stroller because they open up the handicap gate to let you pass when you have a stroller. I still had to get in the park to rent one, so had to go through the darn thing. I got to a way of moving and turning so I went through with my waist.

I had mastered my maneuver very well and my mom would chuckle when she saw me do it.

Beware of the train in frontierland! LOL Well this thing was built in the day of stick figure people only! They had no gate to go through and you had to go through a turnstile that had wood on each side. So there was no place for my big butt to squeeze up against. Now i'm not sure if you can envision this but I was sweating just thinking how i was going to get through this thing. The space was only so big and the butt wasn't going to make it.

Well it was time to go through....and i started into my kneeling down maneuver to squeeze through with my waist and well my butt was getting stuck and I just started laughing so hard. I was laughing so damn hard from nerves I thought for sure I was going to die from laughing, or being stuck with my butt in this turnstile or i was going to pee my pants or all of the above! As this was all taking place - which was slow motion for me of course! My parents see me going down......and down.......and down..... til the next thing i'm on the floor! I went down to one knee from the waist squat thing and that was it I was definitely going to pee myself from the laughter that I just went completely down on the floor.

My hubby was upset cause he was in front and didn't see me he thought i got hurt. My parents helped me up and they were laughing so hard too. Mom is much thinner then me but her butt kept getting stuck too so she understood. I had them all in tears as I told them what was going through my head. I purchased an umbrella stroller that night and had the pleasure of going through a lot of opened gates and no more turnstiles for the rest of the trip. LOL

Sorry this was so long. I hope I made some one laugh Laughing

Heh... an earlier paragraph from my chapter...

Quote:
Once our massive breakfast was eaten down to the forks, it was finally off to the parks! It was time to squeeze our way through monorail doors, and it was time to receive escorted assistance through the wheelchair entrance of the Magic Kingdom as my father was far too large to push through any kind of turnstile.

Thanks thanks!

I just read my post to my Mom and we both had another good hard laugh at it.

Turnstiles should be outlawed. LOL

Lori...I enjoyed your story. The best part of losing weight is going back to the places similar to what you described and stand tall in accomplishment after a weight loss! When you reach your goal (or halfway there) go back to that turnstile and march right through! I'll even meet you there! Good luck on your journey and thanks for sharing to motivate all of us.
