Hi everyone. I'm loving this too. My vote would be for this section to be closed to anyone other than members tho. There may be things we want to talk about amongst ourselves that we want to be private.

Glad to be here and I sure do need some encouragement. I KNOW what I need to do, but my motivation is in the toilet. Somebody kick some sense into me!

Hey Dinah. I know what you mean about motivation. Why does it sometimes click, and other times not? I (thank God) am in a time where the switch is "ON", and I hope every AM that I wake up with it still in the "ON" position. You have done so well so far! How do we get you back into the "ON" position? I have seen you put inspirational messages on the boards - do you have these for your own use at home? Tape em to the mirror. Tape up old pictures, buy some cool clothes in the next size down, make lists of why you want to do this. Post here.

Know this, even though you are struggling to make the click happen, your posts have been an inspiration to me. You have helped me keep my switch in the right position!

Here is a kick comming your way.... hope it works!

trish

Oh Geez, Trish, Why did you have to be so sweet, when I'm such a sh## right now???? I am PMS-ing out of my mind (sorry guys) right now, and am so down on myself I can't stand it. My favorite saying for this kind of mood I'm in is "This too shall pass". I'm depressed, but at least I know it. One day I'll eat everything that doesn't eat me first, and the next day I have to force myself to each a piece of cheese. (today being one of those days).

I had my major light bulb moment back in May of 2003. I have (had) been SO GOOD on my WL journey till lately. Not that I'm off the wagon, but I have a bad case of who gives a sh## right now.

I know what I should do, but doing it is another thing. So I am volunteering to turn around and let anyone who wants to, give this large rear view a swift kick.

Thanks for your sweet words Trish. I'll be back to myself soon. I promise. But just tolerate the mad woman behind the curtain for a few days, will ya?

DINAH!!! I guess I'm gonna have to smack some sense into ya. Girlfriend...look at what you have been goin through for the past .I'd say 3 months. Since about the time I joined. You have been VERY sick with that, whatever you had. On so much antibiotic for it. You went through alot for your friend, a death close to heart. Now the stress of worrying about your sister, AND yourself. PMS on top of everything else. Give yourself a break. huh?? STOP, rest, look at where you have been. The accomplishments you have made. Dingy does NOT have to mean "always" up. We love you here, and feel my HUGS!!! Have your day of "to hell with the world, and everyone in it". Do it up right! Then lets put a period on it and move on. When your done...grab my hand and we will skip down this road together!!

Hi Dinah,
It's like a vicious cycle: all that estrogen coursing through our bods gives us the munchies which in turn makes PMS symptoms worse which cause us to eat and on and on and on.

I don't know if this works but I recall reading that PMS symptoms can be controlled by mild to moderate exercise, plenty of water, cutting back on salt and sugars. At the time I was deeply involved with carb addiction so I scoffed at it. Since that's essentially what we're doing, I can't wait to see if it works this month.

I'd never dream of kicking a woman in the throes of PMS. I'd be Wink ascared! Besides, you've already accomplished more than most people and you'll turn it around soon.

We caught a rerun of Roseanne late one night. She was PMSing and her husband warned the family to "get ready for a 72 hour roller coaster ride with Goofy at the switch!" I think I caught my husband nodding. lol

Dang it, will ya quit it? I'm at work already! I can't be crying at work! There's no crying in baseball!!! No wait, that's "A League of Their Own."

You are so right too. I have been through a lot in the last couple of months, and there's a ton of stuff I haven't even shared here. I guess that's part of it. I'm feeling completely and totally overwhelmed. I'm kinda wishin' I could just crawl into a corner with a cold one and tell the world to kiss my royal hiney!! I'm feeling sorry for myself, and dern it, I know I'll get over it, but I sure don't like the feeling.

I know it's PMS, and I know I'll get over it. But shoot, I sure don't like the ride. But I will take your advice and ride the wave. It will be over soon, hopefully! Evil Laugh Evil Laugh Confused

Thanks for caring, and thanks for the kick in the seat of the pants. I needed that. Along with the Hug Hug

Well, Heck, I'M feeling sorry for you! I know where you are at girlfriend! I'm kinda discouraged too. But I know that I need to eat low carb to survive in this world. I know I have the tools, just like you do. We just need each other to pull ourselves up by the bootstaps and get back on the stupid freakin' wagon!!!! (cursing only due to PMS, no negativisim implied)

I'll pull your wagon if you'll pull mine???? Deal?????

dinah (or can i call you dingie) the people who give a s@##%&** are us . we have all been ther, some of us are now. of course i only get depressed twice a week. thats when the big game numbers come out and i don't have them...but i am learning to cope.in a psyche class i took once, there was this method of dealing with depression called "act as if" and how it works is no matter how high the s@##$ in your life rises....act as if everything is cool. this is not easy but i know it works cause believe it or not there was a time in my life....when i just wasn't as stable as i am these days (gheese thats a scary thought lol) hang in there girl we love you and are here for you. just keep doin what you know works and when you feel like eating.......come to the forum and talk about it we'll fill ya with words and you will forget about food. tc Cool
