Last year I was the fattest I'd ever been. I ate healthy yet I gained weight. I ate low fat low calorie and had fruits and yogurt. I even changed just my breakfast once to steel cut oats with a spoon of honey in it and gained weight that month. I have pcos. so my body processes carbs differently. I knew if I wanted to be healthyI had to lose weight. I was 221. So I went to a local business, professional weight management. I've lost 40 pounds but I'm stuck at 180. any advice would be helpful. I've been stuck for a few months. my diet is as follows:
breakfast: protein cereal with milk or eggs or egg sandwich
snack: Protein bar
lunch: 220 calories of lean protein, 1-2 cups veggies
snack: something crunchy
dinner: same as lunch
snack: protein drink
the snacks are products I buy at professional weight management. I'm allowed red meat only twice a week and not back to back days. I normally only have red meat once a week if at all. I'm now allowed bread 3 times a week at breakfast or lunch. I've cut that back too trying to lose again. I also take a vitamin b supplement and a chromate supplement. I seem to want bad foods all the time lately. I'm trying to step up my exercise and switch it up. I work out at curves 3 times a week and I've been doing 4 rounds instead of 3. that makes my workout 45-50 minutes. I am just kind of at a loss of what else to do. Any suggestions from you would be great! I've done good so far but I'd like to improve. Smile

It is really kinda hard to tell from your post, but...... I sounds like you are not doing low carb at all.
Sounds like you are still eating white flour (the bread), and I'm suspicious of the protein bars, cereal, drinks & etc you are eating. Some protein bars, cereal, drinks, & etc are high carb. But since I don't really know what it is you are eating, I really can't say.
I know a lot of people avoid red meat, but I disagree with that, unless there is some other health reason for avoiding it.

Just because this organization is a professional weight loss organization, doesn't mean they have the best plan for you. And sounds like they sell you their products. hmmmm

And milk is high in carbs too.

My daughter has PCOS. Her doctor recomended a low carb diet to her. It was a long time before she actually tried it. She too was gaining weight on what should have been either a weight loss diet, or maintenance. When she finally gave low carb a try, she lost the weight. I'm sorry to say that due to cirmstances she went off low carb, and gained most of it back. But happy to say that she has lost most of that again now.

I'm not sure how much help this has been, and hopefully someone else will have more to add.

I do wish you the best, and hope you can lose the weight for you health.

Oh, and low fat is NOT good! Especially low fat combined with high carbs.

I have PCOS and stalled many times and did lose weight until I got serious and went to a strict 20 carbs a day Atkins program....I am proud to say I lost all my weight in a year and have kept it off.....have lost 65 pounds....good luck...PCOS means it will be hard but not impossible.
