Posted: May Sun 22, 2005 9:38 am Post subject: a question about low carb and cholesterol.
I have never had my cholesterol check until now.
The good cholesterol is 43
The bad cholesterol is 52
Not bad at all.
My triglycerides are high 219 should be like 150. The doctor said that would go down as I lose weight. He all so said it is RAW FAT. Does that mean body fatty tissue? Like what I’m trying to lose?
On a personal note I read on the Internet health site some on a low carb high protein diet can have an odd smell to they urine. Has any one experience this? _________________ Once you love them, they never really leave us.
To lower trigs and increase hdl, you will want to cut carbs, eat more fiber, and....(drumroll) exercise.
If you want to lower ldl, cut hydrogenated/saturated fats and trans-fatty acids and reduce overall body fat.
Be careful what kind of oil you cook with. Avoid canola (not good for high heat cooking). Use olive oil or grapeseed oil where possible.
