"Earth Balance Butter (too much of it, I was craving it and was just sitting there eating it out of the container like some crazy woman)"

Hiya Cathy! You're body is craving fat. I still think you aren't eating enough (fat). Fat is your friend. It tastes good and it keeps you full! Not to mention that your body NEEDS it. Can you eat real butter? It's way better for you than the manmade stuff, IMO.

No wonder you're always hungry. If I ate that little fat I'd be starving all the time too!

Cathy, I always have something at night before I go to bed because my body has always wanted something. On so many other "diets" I had to work to avoid it. On LC I eat something and don't feel guilty about it. One of my favorite nighttime snacks is porkrind w/ cream cheese. It has plenty of fat and taste goooood! You may not like them but you can find something. I use to feel that something was wrong with me because I was always hungry at night and my whole family seem to be the same way. One day I saw a doctor on TV talking about how people metabolize food. She said she was not talking about their metabolism but how fast their food goes through they system. She said there are people who crave food at night because their system metabolizes food so quickly that their body requires it to get through the night. One reason I realized LC was for me is because I can eat fruit alone and in 30 minutes I am hungry and craving food "now!!". Watch your body and see if you may be like me and if so eat when you need food. Donna

Cathy,
Yes you can delete your posts. (you asked about deleting a double post).

When on the page where you read all the post, you can click on the X icon in your post and delete it.

I deleted that one for you. (Mods can do that for you, if you can't find the X or don't understand - not necessarily you, but whom ever.)

Oh, and may I suggest that you find some coconut oil, and add that to you daily menu. Will help with the fat cravings, and many find it helps them lose weight. (It didn't help me personally, but maybe because I already eat enough healthy fats, but it did help my skin immensely.)

Yup, me too. Unless I fall asleep in front of the TV (usually), then I want to munch at night. But I know what you mean, in the beginning I wanted to munch on all the wrong stuff too. I keep chocolate bark in the freezer at all times and it has really kept me out of trouble.

Angie, I guess I still need to work on the fat issue and not even think about looking at the fat grams, I really have a mental block about that Very Happy

Donna, I'm in Georgia too!!! I'm not sure if we have already discussed that or not but hello neighbor Wink

I know I can have a snack at night, BUT my problem is not wanting to stop when I start. It's almost like I become like an alcoholic would be if she took a few drinks and then her whole kitchen was stocked with beer or something.

Why is it that my body can do great all day long, and then it gets dark outside and I want to eat everything I can't (or shouldn't) have??
And if I do allow myself a snack, the hunger becomes worse. Like tonight, I allowed myself 2 TBSP of Almond Butter and after I ate it, I became SO hungry and wanted something sweet (like ice cream Confused )
BUT instead of going back to the ice cream, I went and got the jar of almond butter and ate about 2 more TBSP and maybe a little more.
After I put that up I wanted to go to the pantry and grab some sunflower seeds, but I stopped and did not go and get them. Sure a few wouldn't have hurt me, but I know myself and if I start on sunflower seeds I can't stop, and they are not in the shell!!
So I fixed some decaf green tea and sat down at the computer.
YEAH, I made it through a binge!!!!

So, I don't know which is better for me, have a snack at night, or stop after supper?? I am a night owl, and that seems to be when my body is hungry, kind of like you were talking about. But I know my body couldn't be as hungry as it think it is!!

And yes, fruit does that to me too. If I fix a bowl of berries, it always makes me want to eat the house and then some!! And I love my
berries Sad

Billie, thanks for taking care of that for me, and I will try and find the x
if I have any questions I may hollar at ya Wink
I was eating coconut oil with my salmon and cauliflower, I love the taste.
I will add that back into my diet as soon as I get some extra money to buy some. That stuff ain't cheap Shocked

Angie, I am going to go through the recipes this weekend and make some things like the almond bark, so that I will have something to eat incase the ice cream and cookie monsters come back Laughing

Thanks everyone!!!
Love
Cathy

B- Soy Protein Powder
8oz Unsweet Almond Milk (1)
Cinnamon, Stevia, Almond Extract
Salmon Fillet
Cauliflower, Broccoli, Olive Oil

L- Grilled Chicken Breast
Veganase, Mustard, Celery, Boiled Egg

S- was out grocery shopping and I was at a health food store that had
a food bar, So I grabbed a piece of grilled salmon (ingredients: Olive
Oil, Salt and Pepper)
I also ate a Mozz. Cheese Stick about an hour later
Then when I was at publix I went by the deli to get the Boars Head
Turkey, when I saw the Boars Head American Cheese. I thought I
could make the baked cheese "crackers" with this since I'm adding
dairy back into my diet, so I bought some and the lady at the counter
gave me a sample of the cheese and another sample of her favorite
cheese. I thought I would do ok since I had taken an enzyme not long
before, but boy was I wrong!!!! My stomach started hurting so bad and
I started feelin yucky all over. I'm still hurting and it has been over 6
hours that I ate the cheese. So I'm not sure if I will be able to eat the
baked cheese crackers or not Crying or Very sad

D- Got home late from the stores and running errands so I had to see
what I could grab fast. We still had left overs from last night so I
heated up another Chicken Breast, Green Beans, and Stir Fry
Cauliflower.
I also had 8 oz Unsweet Almond Milk (1) to see if that would settle my
tummy, but it didn't Sad

S- Almond Butter (started with 2 TBSP and ended up eating about
4 Rolling Eyes) (4) But I didn't eat anything after that which is a big
accomplishment, normally I would have gone to the sunflower seeds,
and then the choc chips, and then the ice cream, and so on Confused
That is why I need to journal here, so I can be held
accountable Wink

Congratulations on halting the binge last night! I was thinking...maybe at night you could have a protein shake--might help with the sweet tooth/ice cream craving and if you use some FAT in it, it would be quite filling. Can you have heavy cream? I'm assuming so if you eat ice cream. But if not, make the shake with some coconut cream. I like to make mine with 8 oz almond milk and 4 oz heavy cream. I also add an extra egg for the protein. Might be worth a try...

Did not exercise today, we were out all day for Father's Day and then went to church tonight. I need to exercise tomorrow though because if I go over a few days without exercising I get out of the habit, I really do not like to exercise!!!

B- Protein Powder
Unsweet Soy Milk

L- "Applebees" restaurant
Lettuce, Bacon, Egg, Grilled Shrimp (told them to leave off all the
spices)
Brought my own salad dressing "Ranch"

D- 3 Eggs, 3 Egg Whites
3 slices of turkey bacon
Almond cheese
Mushrooms

S- Fage Yogurt
2 (plus) TBSP of Soynut Butter
Walden Farms Chocolate Dip

I was a little upset about our restaurant choice for lunch because I have not eaten at Applebees in a few years and I had no idea what to get.
We had planned on eating at "Longhorns" and I know exactly what to get there plus I know that they don't use a lot of MSG or sugar for flavor.
Well, we get to Longhorns and the wait is 2 hours Shocked My dad did not want to wait that long so he walked over to Applebees next door and there was no wait at all, that should have been a red flag right there Confused
So I was very unprepared. I told the waitress I had food issues and I needed them to work with me Wink I told her I needed to create my own salad and that I needed to make sure that there was NO seasoning on my shrimp, she took my order but when she brought it out, there was seasoning on my shrimp so I made her take it back and redo my order.
I'm normally not like that but I did not want to mess up today especially with something like a seasoning, I would rather mess up on something like Ice Cream Wink
So I ate the salad and it was all right but nothing like the yummy salmon I was going to get at Longhorns Very Happy

Walked 4 mile boosted walk with weights and strength band
10 Min. Strength Training upper body

B- Protein Powder
Unsweet Soy Milk ( I want to start using Almond Milk so I won't be
getting so much Soy, but I had this in my fridge and I don't want to
waste it)
Salmon
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Olive Oil

L- Eggplant Soup Homemade (eggplant, red bell pepper, garlic cloves)
Deli Roast Beef
Veganase, Mustard

D- Something I put together and it is REALLY good
3 egg whites, 1/2 avocado, 1/4 of an apple, celery, tsp veganase,
dash of lemon juice (dice everything up and mix together) yummy!

S- I was out all late afternoon and early evening and was caught with nothing to eat so I went into Target and grabbed a trail mix bag and ate only the almonds, soy nuts, and pumpkin seeds, my daughter ate the raisins and the dried cherries Very Happy

Stomach still really hurting and when I was doing my exercise it about had me doubled over. One thing this pain is doing is keeping me from wanting to eat at night which is a nice change.
I wonder if this pain could be due to my food intolerances and me adding back in eggs and dairy?? I don't think the eggs are bothering me but I know when I ate cheese the other day, the pain got a lot worse and my whole stomach felt like it was in a knot. I do not want it to be that because I have really enjoyed adding in my eggs!!!! I can do without the dairy just fine, but I want to keep my eggs Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

Walked 3 mile boosted walk with weights and strength band
Played ball outside with my family Very Happy

Okie Dokie, I really enjoyed my eating plan today and Angie, you are going to be SO proud of me, I ate a lot more "FAT" than normal and I stepped out on a ledge and tried some of y'alls recipes. Let me tell you, they were so good and I stayed full all day long, Yeah for me Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

B- 1 Min. Muffin (and let me tell you something, this thing was delish)
Spread some Earth Balance Butter on the Muffin
David's breakfast scramble and yep I ate the whole thing Shocked
but I used ground white turkey and only used 12 oz, I had to use
the Vegan Cream Cheese but it was just as good and still melted.

After I ate all of that my tummy was so full, so I didn't eat much till supper. But I had a lot of energy and felt really good.

L- 4 Slices of Deli Roast Beef
Green Leaf Lettuce to roll the roast beef up in
Veganase, Mustard

D- Green Leaf Lettuce
Boiled Egg
Mushrooms
Broccoli Slaw
Turkey Bacon
Walnuts
Ranch

S- Milkshake and it was so very yummy too Wink
Protein Powder
12 oz Soy Milk
1 cup mixed berries
almond extract, stevia
soynut butter

I think I over did it on the nut family since I had the 1 min muffin which had the almond flour, then I had walnuts with my salad, and then tonight I ate the soynut butter.
Angie, when you have something that has almond flour in it do you try and limit nuts or seeds in the rest of your day? I tell you what though I loved your 1 min muffin!!! How many carbs do you count for it if I did it just like you do? 2TBS flax meal and 2Tbs almond flour
I ordered the Protein Power from the library so once I read through it I will understand more on the carb ratio. I know I need to start counting my carbs so I can get an idea of what I am consuming every day and see what amount of carbs I can eat without gaining weight.
Thanks for all of your advice and support!!

Hooray Cathy! Great to see a good food day post from you! See?? Fat is your friend...

I don't really pay attention to how many nuts I'm eating. I just try to keep my carbs at 10 or under per meal and less than 30/day. For the OMM, I guess it depends on what kind of almond meal you use. I use Trader Joe's and the carb count is 2 net/quarter cup. So for the muffin the carb count would be: 2 tbs almond meal [1], 2 tbs flax meal [0], egg [1], coconut oil [0], whatever carb count your sweetener is and whatever extras you add...looks like 2 net carbs for the basic recipe. They are yummy, aren't they??

Have another great LC day tomorrow Cathy!

Angie
