I have always been told to eat carbs before exercise. I usually go to the gym right after work, so I'm looking for ideas I can have a work and secondly I go to the gym early mornings on weekends, what to eat then too.

My husband and I usually have a low-in-carb (no more than 5carb/serving) protein shake before hitting the gym. I can't see that I need to load up with more carbs when I'm only in the gym weight lifting for 25-30 minutes.
What helps me more as far as having the 'energy' to make gains in what I can lift is caffeine pre-workout. Sometimes I make coffee in the morning, fridge it and mix IT with the chocolate low-carb protein shake instead of water. Yum!
