My Story:
8 weeks ago i made a decision to lose weight. my life partner (also known as girlfriend) had just had gastric bypass surgery in the beginning of dec. for primarily health reasons. change comes hard for me as i am sure it does for most people. i have spent a lifetime not eating "right". to be honest, i just got tired of being fat! i wasn't fat as a kid or teenager,in fact when i went into the navy i was as tall as i am now(5'&") had a 42 cheast and a 28" waist. i don't think i will ever get back to that but i am confident i can get to 170 which is my goal. i have a type of heart failure known as diastolic dysfunction, i have coronary artery disease, atrium flutter, mild copd, and diabetes; other than that i am pretty healthy lol. i made the decision to do low carb after watching several episodes of low carb and lovin it. i said to myself "self this is a lifestyle i can live with". sooo i spent 3 days on the net and in the library and found out all that i could about low carbing and taylored a program to fit me. i don't follow any one diet plan exclusively, i am just not that regimented. i do stick to 20 to 30g's of carbs a day, keep calories below 1500, walk a mile a day, and drink nothing but water and i drink barrels of that. since doing this i feel better physically and emotionally. my blood sugars are in line (used to be consistantly 250+) my incentives are first for myself and my health, secondly for the woman in my life, and last but certainly not least for my children and grandchildren. i would love it if i am allowed to stick around long enough to see my grandchildren graduate. i would reccommend this wol to anyone serious about losing weight. this is not a quick fix but truely a wol. i am glad i made the choice
My Tip:
drink lots of water!!! at least 64oz's/day. exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
